Honestly Google should just push out a easy upgrade path to those affected. Make it easy for people to get upgraded to the latest Pixel.

The PR fall out from this could be very bad and they should learn from Samsung.

My 4a had the charging port almost start a fire after owning it for less than 2 years.

I got a free battery replacement and have not had any issues afterwards. Just stating for a data point.
