Why isn’t there a Berlin airlift for Gaza? Why aren’t navies escorting aid ships? Those are rhetorical questions, you don’t need to answer it for me. I know most governments with any ability to project power support the genocide.

Supposedly Israel is detaining them in solitary while deporting them after abducting them in international waters.

They were removed at gunpoint from international waters, taken to a country they had no intention of entering, and then were told they had no right to be there and ejected.

      https://apnews.com/article/israel-gaza-flotilla-greta-thunberg-legal-65ff69bd2eb19d8c587a70294ce499bd

"The Freedom Flotilla Coalition, which organized the latest ship, says the Madleen was intercepted in international waters some 200 kilometers (124 miles) off the coast of Gaza, a claim that could not be independently verified. Israeli authorities have not disclosed the location where the ship was halted.

Robbie Sabel, an international law expert and former legal adviser to the Israeli Foreign Ministry, said the U.N. Convention on the Law of the Sea stipulates that a state only has jurisdiction up to 12 nautical miles (19 kilometers) from its shores."

That’s pretty much the textbook definition of abduction. If someone holds you at gunpoint, takes you to a second location, even if they release you would you not call that “abduction”?

Obligatory “Never let them take you to a second location.”

      great,

what is a word by being taken against your consent in international waters by a armed group without legal jurisdiction?

They sailed straight into a naval blockade. They were subsequently stopped and searched. What do you expect? That Israel asks them nicely if they can kindly fuck off?

They were siezed over 10x the distance from Israeli waters where Israel had no jurisdiction.

Israeli, I expect Israel to fuck off and not violate international law by unilaterally setting up a multi decade long blockage, especially during a genocide and famine they are creating.

Seizing/intercepting for deportation. Not trying to defend Israel, but it was pretty clear from the start that this was their mission, and it went perfectly according to the plan, and now media can have a field day.

EDIT: Apparently they didn’t even bother loading the boat full with aid

          I wouldn’t consider it deportation.

not like they went to Israel, they went to another country.

that’s like me going to Canada, but the US intercepting my plane, forcing me to land in US soil at gunpoint. and then be kicked out of the states.
