The military doesn’t like airspace violations much…
Doesn’t really matter which country.
I’m reminded of Mathias Rust. The guy is very lucky he wasn’t shot down.
Holy shit. Yeah, he’s incredibly lucky to not be a pink mist. Still did 14months of a 4 year sentence in a labour camp though.
what are they going to do pull you over
Yes. With missiles.
in reality I think ATC will just wait 2 hours for you to run out of fuel and notify the local police for wherever you land
if you’re headed towards the pentagon though they’ll probably shoot you down
You ever see those “Speed limit enforced by aircraft” signs? That’s the guy you gotta worry about.
That’s what “©” means. In most states you are by natural law not allowed to be faster than the speed of light
most states
I don’t know of any where it’s allowed but I didn’t want to generalize since generalizations are always wrong. Always.
Physics is full of woke librul propaganda like “conservation of energy”.
In my state we obey the laws of alchemy.
… of matter
That damned big governement and their rules smh
/s
I never actually understood those. Do they actually have, like… a drone? Is it snapping a photo? How’s it all work?
So you’ll occasionally see two white lines perpendicular to the road at a set internal. A helicopter, drone, or plane can time when a car passes both of these lines and can calculate the average speed of the car.
This info is then relayed to a police car on the ground who then pulls over the driver.
Why is that better than the police officer who was going to pull them over just using a speed gun?
shrugs
Less likely to be noticed by drivers or alerts like on Waze. Probably a bit more costly though if they’re using helicopters or planes instead of drones.
It seems like if the purpose was stealth then they wouldn’t have a sign announcing it.
Deterrence. You never know when they might be monitoring you above, so watch your speed.
I drive through areas like this all the time for years. I have never heard of anyone actually getting a ticket from this.
Me when I launch my paddleboard without my permit. Who’s gonna stop me? The water cops? (Yes, yes they will 😞)
Where do you live that you need a permit to paddleboard?
PA, as with kayaks I need a launch permit for the lakes and rivers.
Good grief.
I don’t know where op is from but a lot of states, especially in the western US require invasive species tags on any craft over a certain length, like 10 ft. Some also require state registration decals. Idaho is an example of one that takes the invasive species decals and water craft checkpoints very seriously.
Certain locales in CA are pretty big on it too. My local lake is huge on the decontamination thing and require certification on even small kayaks. They also like money too.
yep. got a warning once for not having purchased a permit on my paddle board.
That’s why I drink and fly. Who’s ever heard of a FUI?
It’s called a crash and burn
The first hint that something was amiss early Wednesday at the Westchester County Airport was the erratic motion of the low-flying Cessna. Confirmation came moments later when security workers approached the aircraft and beer cans fell out of the cabin as the pilot opened the door.
All fun and games until tower gives you a number to call.
Shoot the gas tank, I’m sure it’ll come down sooner or later…
If a cop managed shoot the gas tank on a flying plane, I wouldn’t even be mad if I died in that crash
The fuel tanks are in the wings on most planes, they’re not that hard to hit.
I would love to see you hit a flying plane, anywhere on the body at all, with a 9mm
Did you know, other people have planes as well?
True story, I even found one out in the woods hunting blackberries.
And they make very difficult targets when they are flying over 80m/s and half a kilometer in the air
So wait until they either land or take off.
Come on dude, this is basic stuff.
The entire premise of this conversation was about a plane mid-air lmao
They’re not hard targets when they fly right over your house. Hell, if anything, I had to time my antbed explosions away from the time they’d fly.
Wait, wtf are antbed explosions?
Just be in a flying plane at the exact same speed and acceleration so that in your reference frame it becomes easy
Cops have a LOT of rifles, not just hand guns. 🤷♂️
That doesn’t change the fact that you’re not going to hit an object going 125mph at 9000’
It absolutely does. Airplanes were being shot down in Vietnam with an SKS firing 7.62 rounds. Now, the question at that point would be do you want someone lobbing bullets into the sky so they can fall back down and potentially hurt someone or damage something? Absolutely not. But it’s not only possible, it has been done before.
The planes dropping napalm were flying low, not damn near 2 miles up.
You can think you’re john wick all you want, it’s not fucking happening
no man you don’t get it, I could totally do it with a 22
22plinkster has entered the chat
F22?
If I was standing right at the end of the runway I’d quite fancy my chances.
But what if the runway was a treadmill?
Wait, we can haz hamster treadmill powered planes?
Planes take off at a given air speed, not ground speed, so that wouldn’t affect anything.
I can’t tell if you’re joking or not
You spelled drone wrong…
That thing is not gonna fly forever!
They’ll shootcha down.
I mean, it’s legal under faa part 103…
Yes, because nobody can make a thing that stabs the already volatile battery or anything like that…

There is a city in the sky apparently.
