I don’t have a problem with the idea of a digital ID. I’ve been saying for years that it’s ridiculous that any time you want to do something even vaguely official you have to take a gas bill with you to prove your address.

What I worry about is the implementation. It seems like it’s going to be a government app that stores everything. What company is going to develop that? Where’s the data going to be stored and how? What vulnerabilities does it have, and how has this been tested? Is biometric data going to be stored anywhere? etc.

If they were to let me store my ID in my phone’s built-in wallet, then I’m happy. I know the security and I’m content that my data is safe and recoverable.

But it doesn’t seem like that’s something that will be possible. So I’m going to object strongly.

You dont improve government by voting. You improve government with a gin ti its head.

Look at the people getting everything they want from governments not what theyre told they want, what they actually want. They didnt vote in a fuvking think.

So much for it being optional.

There’s a good chance it won’t spread due to the UK being a very good example of how awful it is. Works quite well with the age verification shit, now that even Wikipedia is under threat you can explain it even to rather stubborn boomers rather well.

Over here they try different kinds of authoritarianism and surveillance instead. Like Chatcontrol (which by now became more of a Devicecontrol).

This means that you will have to lead a quiet life and not comment on anything, or at worst just watch violent films, for example, and pretend that you are decent, otherwise you will be arrested? Or will you be forced to pay a fine?
