Today’s game is Max Payne 2. ever since i started doing a Theme for this month i’ve been wanting to play this because of it’s fall theme (that and the first game in winter). Now that Halloween is over it’s the perfect time for this. I even installed the widescreen fix.
I had a bug where the sound mixing was horrendous. In this room it was kind of calming though. Just lots of rain which made it soothing. The police sirens were drowned out so it was just me, Max, and the rain drops.

Going through this game after having beat it once is surreal. I’m noticing a lot of things i didn’t before. And on top of that im better at the game than before. I still have to get used to pressing F5 to save every once in a while, but besides that it’s an interesting experience.

The dream sequence was a little trippy. I think the widescreen fix did something because there are some visual errors i don’t remember. I don’t think you can see them in this screenshot, but they were there.

All of this is kind of me refreshing for the Remake coming out soon. I’m excited for it, and i wanted to brush up before it comes out to see the differences. I’m hoping it’s a case of things being different but not vastly altered, but with Remedy doing it i have a lot of trust. I just hope Sam Lake is hands on with this one again.
I got into Poets of the Fall in a big way after Late Goodbye. Their work is fantastic and they’re brilliant live.
I’m glad Remedy have stuck with them over the years, the Herald of Darkness song from Alan Wake II was a banger.
Their work is awesome. I want to see them live. I was actually just listening to them on the way to class today.
Remedy sticking with them is something I love. Something about their work feels like authentic. I don’t mean it as a jab to songs made for video games, but a lot of the time songs made for video games have this “feel” where you can tell “yep. That’s tied to a specific game”. Something about PoTF’s work though feels like it’s an actual album
Oooh, Max Payne!
I played them when they were released, and they were such great games for their time. Don’t remember much about the story though, some dream sequences, and there was some subway in start of the first game I believe, remember trying the slow-mo from different angles there.
Looking forward to play the remakes!
The subway in the first game is iconic too me. I still remember the layout in my head and think about it from time to time
best bullet time ever!
It really is. I’ve been keeping an eye out for games that come close but really there aren’t a lot which is a shame

MP2 is still a surprisingly good looking game for being a PS2 era title.
There’s some parts where i forget that it’s PS2 era. It really feels like something from the next gen. It’s surreal
What game is this one from? The screenshot looks familiar but I can’t quite tell.
Is this like a really bad troll attempt?
It’s Max Payne 2! It’s a bit old so you may have seen it before online (or maybe even played it yourself)
