I opened one today and found songs from breakup summers, late-night coding binges, and road trips I havent taken in years. They sit there like exhibits: perfect, freeze-framed, and strangely distant, because the feelings that walked in with them left. Maybe we keep ‘random’ playlists because it feels safer than curating which parts of ourselves we still want to carry.

I embrace this playlist. Call it grabbag and put all my top songs I loved over the years. Genres are mixed and it brings back memories of years past. It’s not my largest Playlist but it sure is fun.

I have one playlist with all my music. Every song is there because I like it, no matter the genre, tempo, tone, or mood.

brillant. though all of my random playlists are named thusly because I didn’t want to be boxed in with a genre, mood, or theme

Hmmm. My playlists are random to the eras of my life… SomaFM, Hippy-dippy, (mom’s 60’s and 70’s rock collection) Teen angst (those are cassette rips), road trips, etc…
