I was toying with getting another MS-01 when I noticed that this has been announced.

Looks like everything you would expect but with a bigger chassis to cope with the extra expansion slots and supporting 4 slots of ECC memory. All it would need is redundant PSUs and it would be basically server-grade.

Looks to be a solid evolution over the MS-01

Now I have a problem of deciding if I should buy now or wait for the 02.

    You should check out the nas compares review of the pre-release, it’s insanely expensive and he questions who exactly is the target audience.

    Beyond that, he reviews the specs quite nicely (as usual).
