I give 99% of my salary to my wife. She gives me 99% of her salary. We’re a family and we share all expense.

Same here. We have a joint account, I’m the sole earner, apart from mortgage and utilities and whatnot, she’s spending all of it, and that’s great, because she does it much better than I could. I suck at managing money, she does not. I wish I could give her more money.

I do give 45% of my pay to my wife. It’s called taxes and she is a tax official.

    No boomer humour just reality.

My friend gives 80-95 percent because of the price of housing, as well as the fact that his wife and kids constantly wants to live well, well, that is, food of high quality, and so on.

Unfortunately, because of his kindness, he often suffers because of this.

80-95 going to housing and making sure your family is eating well is extremely reasonable. That’s the whole point of the money. That’s not kindness, that’s making sure your kids have a good life and it’s a major goal that most people strive for and would be happy to achieve.

If the outlook is I spend too much on my wife and kids then you shouldn’t be married with kids.

Once kids are self sufficient then you will have more than enough to waste on consumerism.
