But repairability is still an open question mark.

That f’ing sucks. Thanks for the tip.
continuous heart rate monitoring is locked behind some shit subscription service.
No it’s not, I’m using it right now and I don’t pay for FitBit Premium.
I’m stupid and read it wrong at the time I just needed to setup an account 🤦
How much is the subscription?
Wait… You can’t even do continuous heart rate monitoring and logging without a subscription. YIKES!
The scratches during the review period makes me nervous. I walk into walls all the time with my watch so that’s a no go.
I’ll wait and see if it’s more widespread and if there’s any xmas discounts before I potentially pull the trigger
Yeah I’ve got arms like an orangutan. Despite the amount of stuff I’ve smashed my watch 5 pro against it’s still scratch and scuff free.
I was looking at it. But I’m guessing it still doesn’t even barely compare with the Garmin watches for fitness?
Which is weird considering Google owns Fitbit
This is the best summary I could come up with:
Most companies will “personalize” this based on a cockamamie formula that subtracts your age from 220 while giving you no recourse to alter that if it doesn’t line up with your actual fitness levels.
What I don’t love about Safety Signal is it requires you to pay the extra $50 for the LTE model of the Pixel Watch 2 and you must have a Fitbit Premium subscription.
When signs of physical stress are detected, you can choose to receive notifications that prompt you to log your emotions, do a breathing session, or take a walk.
On top of a busy workweek, my grandma died, I closed an emotional chapter in dealing with my mom’s estate, and out of nowhere, I somehow scratched the living bejeezus out of my Pixel Watch 2 review unit (more on that below).
Right after this review first published, Google reached back out to tell me that the scratches appear to be the result of scraping against a hard or uneven surface, and are unlikely to be something related to incidental contact.
[Update: shortly after initial publication, Giovannello emailed to clarify that Google has decided to extend Preferred Care to Pixel Watch 2 in the US and Canada.
