A monopoly in itself is not illegal, it’s the misuse of monopoly power that is.

Now there’s a million ways Google has been alleged to misuse it’s power, which is why there’s a court battle ongoing.

But even if a company has 100% market share (and the government/company/courts/public agree on how that market share is defined) as long as they don’t abuse their power no antitrust violations have occurred.

Edit: under US law. Also not a lawyer.

    As soon as I read

The iPhone is by far the best mobile platform in the world

I had a hard time taking this article seriously. Not because I don’t believe Apples iPhone offering has its place, but because that is conjecture.

Both Android, and iPhone have their places. That being said, so do the more niche mobile operating systems.

Comparing Android to iOS is like comparing Arm to x64 architecture. They both have their use cases. And people should use the best device for their use case.

It’s not a one size fits all kind of situation.

I’ve been extremely satisfied with Ecosia although I don’t know how they built their index to start with.
