They are honestly both good, but can’t beat the native ios experience.

Mostly Voyager for me because it’s almost a 1:1 clone of what I know and love.

But I have Memmy installed too and sometimes use that instead with no particular rhyme or reason.

Mlem dev here—couldn’t agree more about Gavin, he’s a fantastic guy. Gave us some helpful tips about getting through App Store review. Massive props to him for getting that app up and running so fast.

I just want to say I love the friendly “competition” between you guys. It just results in better and better products. I have both and I use them equally. Great work on Mlem, and thanks for opening up the beta signup when I asked a couple of days ago. lol

Imagine touting the benefits of an open, decentralized, user-centric platform, and ONLY releasing your app for it on the most closed, centralized, corporate mobile operating system.

Not sure if this is hypocrisy or a lack of self awareness or what, but memmy is a joke for doing this

If you want a good Android Lemmy client app, get Connect.

It blows Jerboa and liftoff out of the water.

It’s even getting updates once or twice a week!

Was like "oh cool, gonna try this connect app’, only to realize I was reading this comment on Connect. So many apps, man.

Jokes aside I’m loving that there’s so many different clients.

That and being unable to swipe-collapse a comment tree. The right-left swipe only being reply (when there’s already that giant reply button) there is certainly a design choice.

Might as well ask here. I am waiting on Sync for Lemmy to be released, and more importantly reach a non-alpha/beta release. But for now I am also down to try out others. Are there any that are able to handle Android tablets correctly? At the moment I have only used Jerboa. It is great on my phones, but it looks like the old days of apps for Android being forced to run on early tablets on my Galaxy Tab S8+. It just stretches out and feels off in both landscape and portrait orientations.

Adding this to be more specific, as I blanked on it originally. The thing I was somehow forgetting to mention was having cards in multiple columns. With Sync for Reddit, you could have posts show as cards that had smallish preview thumbnails in multiple columns. So posts would show more like a grid. Not sure why I blanked on saying that when talking about how currently posts just stretch all the way across the width of the display (especially in landscape mode). I am not sure if this is even currently an option with how Lemmy itself works. So hopefully that helps better. lol.

I was on jerboa before and liked it. However I tried connect and it’s much better. Jerboa had a lot of bugs still. And the UI is smoother, cleaner and better functionality on connect.

Installed and it does seem to be smooth, so I do thank you for pointing it out! I am beginning to think what I am looking for is more an issue with Lemmy. The thing I liked about Sync was the ability to have multiple columns of posts in the card format. So each post in a community doesn’t just span the whole width of the screen (which is much more dramatic in landscape). Also keeps it easy to scroll more posts and preview images being smaller, but not as tiny as the super small list view.

That all being said, I do think Connect is very clean and will be using it more for the moment. It is good to see attention from devs being put towards Lemmy.

This is awesome. Though mlmym.org does not have any impressum, so I googled it. It should be the instance run by the creator but my mobile device I am currently using does not show me the entire certificate details.

I note this because one should be aware that this has implications regarding security.

Though the creator chose the correct licensing, works under his real name and the code looks good, too.

https://github.com/rystaf/mlmym I did not spot any data gathering things in my fly-through. He gives all the things needed to deploy an own instance to omit this concern.

      Bravo!

I really like it! I just wish I could change my avatar. I looked everywhere, and the option doesn’t seem to exist.
Definitely fills the void Apollo left so far. I am relieved to have found Memmy.
