The most important thing is to protect your mental health so you can function and be resilient.
Being informed on the chaos of the world is far behind that in the priority list. The radius you can impact is tiny compared to the rest of the world and the constant feed of atrocities you get hit with every day. And you don’t have unlimited attention to spend. Focus on what’s around you and making that better. The rest is, for the most part, noise that you have no control over whatsoever.
They aren’t gonna charge me shit because the first one was so dull I only got halfway through it.
Neither of those things are marketed as being artificially intelligent.
Yeah . We might be the first generation that’s objectively correct when we say things used to be better.
I was just gonna go with “Who gives a shit?” but you put it better.
Have you been weezin’ da juice?
I’m an American so I don’t understand why you haven’t just put a couple 30 round mags through the wall with your AR-15?
Why do you avoid them?
Patently
I don’t use them. Or screen protectors . I take good care of my devices, and my phone gets its own pocket always, so no scratches. I’ve only broken 1 phone in my life and it was only the back glass on an iPhone 4, which slipped off my motorcycle seat because that fucking phone was frictionless.
Same. No Apollo no Reddit. Haven’t been back except to delete my account a few weeks later.
Yes it’s fucking sad I even had to put that disclaimer in there, because it’s not unthinkable anymore.
Won’t happen unless the FAA itself gets dismantled. The list of common aviation events that would lead to significant injury precludes it in any sane scenario. Clear air turbulence alone makes it untenable.
Moved to Colorado.
I took the networking TCP/IP fundamentals class for my first MCSE in 99, and the instructor wouldn’t shut up about how IPv4 would be replaced within 5 years.
That guy’s experiments were the inspiration for the Rats of NIMH books, which led to The Secret of NIMH movie!
Historically speaking, about 6.6m square miles.
Until LLMs can build their own power plants and prevent humans from cutting electricity cables I’m not gonna lose sleep over that. The people running them are doing enough damage already without wanting to shut them down when they malfunction… ya know like 20-30% of the time.
