I just played a round of Golf with Alexander Stubb, President of Finland. He is a very good player, and we won the Men’s Member-Guest Golf Tournament at Trump International Golf Club in Palm Beach County, with the Legendary Gary Player, Senator Lindsey Graham, and former Congressman and highly successful Television Host, Trey Gowdy.

“President Stubb and I look forward to strengthening the partnership between the United States and Finland, and that includes the purchase and development of a large number of badly needed Icebreakers for the U.S., delivering Peace and International Security for our Countries, and the World.

“President Stubb told me, in the most powerful of words, that the United States is STRONG, and BACK, AGAIN. I AGREE!” Trump wrote.

    lol

If you watch any interviews with Stubb, where he is asked about Trump, he gives answers that would please Trump.

But if you watch him talk about anything else, you can tell Stubb is way too smart to consider Trump anything other than a bumbling fool. It’s incredible that he’s able to clue people in, while even in person the idiot himself doesn’t realize.

He’s trying to walk the line of pleasing Trumps ego, while getting real work done.

He’s literally just been saying stuff along the line “here’s what president Trump needs to do (insert sane policy), but he’s so smart he doesn’t need me telling him that”.

    And apparently it works.

Definitely, Stubb being a narcissist himself. And a known liar. And a confessed school bully.

But that’s no surprise, his political party openly works with Finnish far-right populists.

I’ve been telling people Finland isn’t the fucking perfect place people think it is.

We’re honestly alarmingly authoritarian and most finns have issues questioning authority.

          Finland is pretty fking racist.

Using the n-word won’t get you into trouble as easily as calling someone out for using it. Has been my experience, at least.

Once an old lady I was driving home from the shops (as a taxi driver) genuinely got furious at me for just refusing to use the word (she was complaining about immigrant taxi drivers, ie my then colleagues). I didn’t even criticise her use directly, I just said I won’t use such language because I think it’s racist and dehumanising and she got mad and started yelling how “you call them what they are!”. Her husband was in the car as well. Just stayed silent.

So whole economically were pretty lefties especially compared to the US, politically less so.

I would love to move and live somewhere else for a few years but can’t afford it rn.

”Back again” Yeah right. Trump also forgot to mention that he asked Stubb that can Putin be trusted and Stubb replied ”No!”

He’s a known liar, for one. Not exactly fit for presidency. “Sori siitä” isn’t enough when you willfully try to spin numbers to your favor, and I’m not talking about a small change: he tried to pass off 10% approval of nominee name securities as 90%, hoping the bill would pass allowing him and others to obfuscate ownership of financial securities for their own gain.

Greedy scumbag then, greedy scumbag now. Really doesn’t help when he kisses a fascist’s ass to protect his & his buddies investments instead of having a backbone.

E: Not to forget, his party works with the Finnish far right.

I don’t know anything about the tournament but I saw a photo of all 4 people in his group holding the same sized trophy and at least one was a former PGA player. I would bet they played best ball and just took the pro’s shot every time. Maybe one of the other three got lucky and hit a putt or a par 3 green or something while every other “best ball” was the professional golfer’s shot.

He’s the first European to convince Trump that Putin is unreliable and untrustworthy. Having to golf with the devil is sadly a part of realpolitik

Finnish media (can’t find a source in English, soz) claim a correlation with Stubbs visit and Trupms aggressive posturing to Putin

Stubb has through out his entire precidency been very pro Ukraine and being an experienced diplomat he should be very familiar with realpolitik and handling populists.

Stubb seems like a levelheaded guy who knows what’s up. He has a whole channel of YouTube videos explaining his positions, and he’s mostly got the right idea about economics and geopolitics IMO. Yes, he’s kissing Trump’s ass, but I think he’s doing it to keep things on track in Europe as much as possible.

Would you kiss Putin’s ass like Stubb kisses Trump’s? Fascists shouldn’t be given any leeway, that’s how they get in and keep power.

If I felt it was the best way to save my country from destruction, yes I would. I wouldn’t let him act against the best interests of my country, but I would kiss his ass if I thought it would help. From everything I’ve seen, Stubb is staunchly against Russia’s imperialist ambitions, so unless he’s really just blowing hot air about that, I doubt he will just go along with Trump’s current plans for Europe.

If Stubb wasn’t going along with Trump’s plans he would be opposing him strongly instead of golfing and smiling with him. At the moment he comes off as a weakling with no spine, but that’s to be expected when his party works with the far right already.

Unlike in WW2 when USSR attacked Finland is in an alliance, now. How do you think their allies see Stubb’s actions after Trump has again and again threatened to attack them? All this ass kissing just to keep some ice breaker deal alive?

You never negotiate with fascists, there’s literally no point in that unless you’re ready to lick their boot.
