Look, I do mean it when i say im sorry. I don’t actually like being angry, it bugs me. But actual fascists are somehow everywhere around me in the Deep South, man. And I’ve seen a lot of em sneak on here and argue in bad faith. I’ve got a zero tolerance for white supremacy and that’s where I thought you were coming from.

So. I came out a bit too aggressive there, but I will remind you that until you tell someone who you are on here, youre basically anonymous.

I am curious to the original point of contention, though - why would you defend America’s founding?

Because the founding of the USA and its history is a complex thing as a nation its done many wrongs like its contemporaries and forebears but it’s also done a great deal of good. There’s also a bit of “What’s the point?” Being mad about the USA existing is pointless, it’s founding went like almost every nation in human history, with violence lies and political bullshitting. It’s far more productive and less damaging to my mental health to focus on what needs to be fixed

I mean, yeah, just about every state has rotten roots. The problem is that a lot of other states have at least pretended to develop in an honest way - the US is constantly misrepresenting the history of non-whites, though, and pretty much always had. Until actual reparations are given out, and Native Americans have genuine autonomy, im never going to be a fan.

But, I get where youre coming from.
