Isn’t a drawing tablet just a fancy touchpad that works with a pen? What excuse do they have not to work with tablets past a certain age when they all use the same USB signalling standard mice and laptop touchpads have used since USB came out? (We all know the real reason, but I’m curious about what they pretend is the reason?)
Apple don’t feel the need to give excuses in situations like this. They know you’re an edge case and your complaints will be so much piss in the ocean.
Meanwhile else gets to talk about how great the new unreadable ui is. That skeleton at the bottom of the swimming pool meme could work here.
Basically yeah. It’s a bit more complicated because of touch sensitivity, but I think I’ll need to learn driver programming soon, because I can’t afford a new model (e: and there’s nothing wrong with this one). Then I’ll be able to say for sure.
e: Intuos 4. And to be fair, it would have died under windows like 10 years ago, apparently.
e: have you updated past Ventura? I haven’t yet because I keep seeing posts where this tablet breaks at Ventura and later. If your 3 works in a more recent OSX, I’ll be able to breathe again, since my subscription services (Adobe, Sibelius) are complaining that I haven’t upgraded.
Yeah I’m currently on sequoia. Setting it up was pretty obnoxious from what I remember. I had to do it 3 times before my computer recognized it, but if you follow directions better than me (and if your specific tablet is supported), you should be good! If you have a friend on a newer version of Mac OS, see if you can test on their computer before upgrading your own since it might be very difficult to downgrade.

I’ve had pretty good results using Connect My Tablet (app store link) to keep my Intuos 3 working on my M3 MBP.
Ooh thanks!
