Activists block roads and the families of Hamas captives call for a general strike

Israeli police arrested at least 22 protesters on Sunday as nationwide demonstrations and strikes called for an end to the war in Gaza and the release of captives.

Demonstrators blocked several roads in Tel Aviv, including the highway connecting the city with Jerusalem. Activists set tyres on fire and caused traffic jams, while protest organisers and the main campaign group representing the families of captives called for a general strike on Sunday.

The Hostages and Missing Families Forum said in a statement that protesters would “shut down the country today [Sunday] with one clear call: Bring back the 50 hostages, end the war”.

    Hamas captured Israli citizens to trade for the Palestinian citizens who were illegally captured by Isreal.

    They should give up all their prisoners of war

              It actually changed recently. I was walking with the devil but now I walk with death. I know the devil isn’t real but I know that death is. I’m a pacifist though so I’m really trying hard to make peace with this

    I didn’t find any estimates of participation count in the demonstration that day. On one hand, I’m glad to see some Israeli resistance, on the other it still feels very muted considering the urgency and need of the Gaza locals.
