I had a Xbox 360 my little sister figured out really quick that the lights on the controller meant that it was on. So we (my twin brother and I) had to connect it but not have it play a character. Then only a little after, she figured out that the controller was supposed to control the characters on screen so we had to let her play. She figured this out by the time she was in preschool.
