minus-squareAlaknár@sopuli.xyzlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up6arrow-down6·edit-25 days agoI don’t know when’s the last time you used Windows, but I use it daily (for work), and these days the update process looks like this: Within 2-4 days of a Patch Tuesday when I’m packing up to go home from work I notice that the “Shutdown” button now says “Update and Shutdown”. I click that button, go to the kitchen to drop off the dishes I used during the day. I come back, the laptop’s off, I pack up and go home. How is Linux less annoying than this?

Hardware, obviously, happens, but that’s not Windows at fault. The longest time I had to wait for an update to finish was 20 minutes - since around Windows 10 dropped. Seriously, it’s like you guys still think Windows is what Windows ME used to be…

On Linux I never had a BSOD into an unavoidable 40+ min update while I’m trying to finish something ASAP. I choose when to download updates, and when to install them.
Last time I saw a software related BSOD on my personal device was… 10 years ago.

nope. i started the fresh install, downloaded the install, double clicked, bsod. on the second try it worked
