    Venuzuelan budget: $22bn
    CIA budget: $15bn

When a single intelligence agency’s budget is comparable to an entire country’s, it’s reasonable to assume that agency will be able to persevere in almost any contest.

Yeah, but the CIA has to spread that money for operations in the whole world. Venezuelans don’t play the same game.

Venezuelans have an entire country to run for that money though. That takes some money.

They’ve also had decades of experience to back them up. They’re not just a newly spun-up agency who’s been given a multi-billion dollar budget.

That being said, South America in general has contended with CIA interference for decades. It’s not unreasonable to think they’ve grown wise to their playbook.

Fun fact, the CIA is known to routinely obfuscate drug money with office expenses.
