On November 10, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) exposed an alleged $110 million corruption scheme at state-owned nuclear company Energoatom. The charges are supported by a fifteen-month wiretap and over seventy searches carried out as part of a major investigation called Operation Midas.

According to NABU officials, the investigation uncovered a criminal enterprise run by Timur Mindich, a film producer and a former business partner of Zelenskyy. Additional suspects include former Minister of Energy and recently appointed Minister of Justice Herman Halushchenko; former Naftogaz CEO and Deputy Prime Minister Oleksii Chernyshov; former Minister of Defense and current National Security and Defense Council member Rustem Umerov; and Ihor Myroniuk, former deputy head of the State Property Fund and former advisor to Halushchenko.

Mindich fled Ukraine the day before his premises were raided and is reportedly now in Israel.

4 high level implicated officials fled Ukraine. Thinking is the US exposed the corruption as pre-peace proposal.

Eh. Just 110 million and Zelenskyy seems only tangentially involved. Wake me up when we find out he is friends with Epstein.

Good on the independent National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) for actually doing its job during wartime.

Ukraine, like many of the former Soviet states, has always had corruption problems. At least they’re trying to work through them right now.

Did he suck a horse dick and get blackmailed by Putin?

Do you really believe that Putin could have any fucking leverage with such photo/video? Fuck years ago was Putin having photo/video of Trump doing golden shower, now is a horse. Trump would just ignore that shit like he is doing with the Epstein scandal.

Russia could have video of pee games in a Moscow hotel. Unless Trump blew Bubba in Russia, there’d be no reason for FSB to have been at the party.

You think he did that because of a photo/video of him sucking a horse??? Why not because is just more profitable for him? Do you really think MAGA people will start moving from Trump because of that? They are already trying to justify the entire Epstein shit. They can convince themselves that the horse thing is AI/fake news or whatever stupid excuse.

So why Trump would do anything for Putin over a leak of him sucking a horse, if his base doesn’t care would not change the result of the election. How that would impact anything for Trump? Why not just buy him with money/crypto/assets/information?

I think it’s a convenient time to character assassinate Zelensky if you’re trying to put pressure on him to push him into a bad deal that benefits Russia.

          A Russian agent

this shit reminds me of medieval serfs who would swear that the new, bad king is a puppet of the rival dynasty or the Pope or whatever. This Russian puppet thing was a masterstroke of propaganda, because it gave liberals, who were already American exceptionalists, the perfect excuse to substitute xenophobia for an actual critique of capitalism. Could Trump be a result of and manifestation of a rancid homegrown ideology that arose from the contradictions between the classes? No, he’s being controlled by the bad foreigners. Hell, I bet Hitler was a puppet of Rasputin, and the third reich was all just a Russian plot to weaken Germany .

When shitlibs are calling the Atlantic Council Russian propaganda, it becomes extremely obvious that they think propaganda is just anything they don’t like.

      Atlantic Council

You know you’ve moved on to huffing the hard stuff when Atlantic Council, a literal American Department of War think tank, is too pro-Russian for your liking. But i mean, let’s be real. “Propaganda” to you people has always just meant “any evidence that runs counter to the reality I wish to cultivate”. Like when nazis running Ukraine was “just propaganda” until all the swastika and totenkopf pictures became too much to deny, at which point you just stopped talking about it.

no no no, you don’t get it. Putin has paid the US billionaire president (or blackmailed him, or charmed him, whatever), which means everyone aligned with the government is a Russian propagandist, unless they say exactly what I want to believe about the Aveng- I mean about Ukraine.

Which propaganda? The American effort to make the corruption seem less so; the people who want to end a horrible war and will try anything to stop it; or the people who sympathize with Russia?

Driven by our mission of “shaping the global future together,” the Atlantic Council is a nonpartisan organization that galvanizes US leadership and engagement in the world, in partnership with allies and partners, to shape solutions to global challenges.

Ukraine has a corruption issue, it was what drove the Ukrainian revolution a decade ago. And while great strides were made to eliminate some of it, it’s still an huge and important issue that is separate from the war
