Not really, still don’t have an explanation for the phrasing. Obviously you don’t owe me an explanation but I’m still curious.
It’s something I always wanted to ask people that would comment about one of my sculpts based on another IP. They’d come up to my stall and say a variation of “reminds me of (character from IP)” and I never had any idea how to respond. It was very clearly the character but sculpted as a different species, both in big obvious stuff and the small details (sculpting it had been a fun challenge as I’d normally do original sculpts). Yes, it does remind you of the character it’s supposed to represent, convention goer, much like red paint reminds you of red paint.
Just thought it was funny that it would come up here and puzzle me all over again 😂
It’s pretty simple, and you can deduce it yourself.
I didn’t see the title.
I didn’t recognize the outfit exactly, because I don’t memorize characters’ outfits exactly.
I found it to be similar, obviously, because it’s the very outfit. So I said it reminds me of Furiosa.
Surely this explanation wouldn’t be too difficult to imagine on your own. But it’s 2–3 simple steps laid out for you now, so hopefully you are satisfied now. 👍
If I was able to deduce it (no, phone, not seduce it, calm down!) I wouldn’t be asking. I’m not here purely to be a dick, despite appearances to the contrary.
I think the confusion here is that I can’t imagine the half-remembering thing with the costume. As in, being able to roughly remember it but not being certain upon seeing it. Kinda like when a name is on the tip of one’s tongue - seeing it tends to get the reaction of “that’s it!”.
(This might also explain why I don’t get what the title has to do with it)
Maybe you have a really good visual memory. Some people who have that can have a hard time imagining how other people can like… “kinda remember” things. 😅 I have an okay ish visual memory.
I’m great with voices on the other hand. When I hear famous voice actors I’m always so baffled when others can’t hear. “How do you not hear how that’s [famous person X]??”
Clearly there’s something odd going on with how I store this stuff. Nice skill on the voices! I can identify some but other times I feel almost voice blind. I can listen to a podcast for literal years and struggle to tell the hosts apart (beyond “that’s someone else talking”).
Title could make it seem like it’s either a mix of the mad max and fallout franchises or at least reminded the poster of both franchises. It’s been a while since I watched fury road, didn’t recognize it immediately myself
Surely that would be more of a “is that Furiosa’s costume?” as the phrasing used suggests the poster knows what her costume looks like and is reminded of it. Of course it reminds them of it, it is it 😂
Could have also been the fact that it’s a post-apocalyptic costume on a bald, white mannequin, which, even if you’re not familiar with the costume itself, looks pretty similar to a post-apocalyptic costume on a blad, white woman.
This is like “Oh hey, that looks like a Star Wars blaster” “Umm, you mean you don’t recognize Han Solo’s blaster at first glance? It was only in half the movies.”
or
“Hey that fantasy sword looks like it came from Lord of the Rings.” “It fucking should this is Glamdring the Foe-Hammer, vanquisher of Durin’s Bane, you fool.”
I don’t really get what the title matters. It’s literally Furiosa’s costume.
Alright bro, then it reminds me of Furiosa because it was what she actually looked like. Happy with your nitpicking adventure finally?

Happy Holidays.

Strangely I’m pretty aphantasic!

It’s a complete costume including prosthetic arm, not a single isolated prop.
I think most fans would recognize Han Solo’s blaster at first glance.
