    Solutions to combating loneliness:

    • 4 workweek
    • more third places
    • maybe better and cheap (or free) public transport to get to and from places

I’m sure there’s more, but honestly and hour a month of “friend time” ain’t getting you anywhere.

one of 11 participants taking part in the pilot “friendcare” scheme for the pharmacy group Apotek Hjärtat. […] she’s granted 15 minutes a week […] to focus on strengthening her friendships or making new connections. […] She can use this allotted friendcare time to chat on the phone, make plans over text, or meet up with someone in person. […] Like all participants in the pilot project, she has been given 1,000 kronor ($100; £80) to help pay for friendship-based activities

So it’s like one extra work break and a couple dollars a week? I guess I’d rather have it than not, but it kinda feels like pizza Friday.

Yeah, but at least it doesn’t sound like some kind of “coworkers are your friends” shit. They seem to be trying, however small, to have work accommodate socializing, instead of being it.

I know it’s only an hour, but that’s more than I’m doing right now. It’s also dedicated time before I am exhausted at the end of a very long workday. Also could be good for people with kids as it can hard for them. To have protected time to do something like this. Curious to see how it goes; I like the idea.
