Editing function to be limited to paying subscribers after X threatened with fines and regulatory action
Grok, Elon Musk’s AI tool, has switched off its image creation function for the vast majority of users after a widespread outcry about its use to create sexually explicit and violent imagery.
The move comes after Musk was threatened with fines, regulatory action and reports of a possible ban on X in the UK.
The tool had been used to manipulate images of women to remove their clothes and put them in sexualised positions. The function to do so has been switched off except for paying subscribers.
Why is the Guardian using inaccurate language here? No one is mad about sex on twitter. They’re mad about non-consensual and CSAM.
The Grauniad is a disappointment wrapped in false hope surrounded by a thin promise.
This isnt accurate. They just disabled the @grok action for free users. The Verge tested it and free users can still generate CSAM in several ways in the app.
He didn’t turn it off, he monetized it; he saw millions of men violating 6700 women’s consent per hour and did what any capitalist would do: He capitalized on it.
Why do people even use MuskSlopAi
So do the people at the Guardian know how Grok turned it off? Did Grok give the order and then staff turned it off or did Grok turn off the software itself? Does the Guardian have any sources or are they just going by imagination?

Still people are not asking how it was able to make this images, for sure they have this images in their training data (and servers)
It doesn’t work like that. If you’re going to hate something, at least get informed. Else you look just as ignorant the people you’re criticizing.
