It wasn’t the Nazis, or the open White Nationalism, or Elon Musk’s toxic narcissistic musings and endorsement of the fascist and deadly Trump regime, or the full hearted philosophy of dismantling democracy and open hatred of empathy. It wasn’t even the absurd and intensely rejected misnomer of ‘X’ forcibly replacing “Twitter”…

No, in the end, it was the pornographic nudity that caused the downfall of the so called ‘X’. So it goes.

That’s how it goes sometimes. The Mines Act of 1842 in the UK didn’t get passed because a bunch of children (some as young as 8 years old) died in a horrific mining accident. It was passed because during the investigation of that accident it became known that the women working in the mine were wearing trousers, and due to the excessive heat in the mines, were working topless in the presence of men. Victorian England wasn’t scandalized by a pile of children’s corpses, but goddamn it, something had to be done about those bare tiddies.

I just can’t understand what goes inside those people’s minds no matter how hard I trie and that’s really frustrating.

Wikipedia lists as a result of the act “No child under 10 years old was to be employed underground.”

        Hooray…?

The response of X is pretty telling

    A) they can easily deactivate/restrict the ability of Grok to create non-consensual porn or even cp B) they still choose to offer it (for money)

That’s a stupid argument. Restricting it to only paid customers is a good thing considering that you can do it for free on Gemini, ChatGPT and free online bikini generators. Get a grip.

I’ve seen people comparing outputs across the main LLMs arguing otherwise. I don’t think online bikini generators existing is an argument against: Murderers exist so we better stop trying to lower homicides. It’s more of a sign of your personal ethics, especially with your final derogatory “get a grip”

I’m saying that we should stop the people, not the tools.

We imprison murderers, we don’t stop selling knives.

Yeah, I can see Aceh, Indonesia’s fully Sharia law province blocking Grok or anything culturally disruptive, especially if it’s just a matter of filtering out traffic from a handful of IP addresses.
