Denmark cannot protect that land from Russia or China, and why do they have a “right of ownership” anyway? I have done more for NATO than any other person since its founding, and now, NATO should do something for the United States. As someone (unfortunately) in the US, I fully expect the reputation of the US to be ruined for the rest of my life. I’m lucky to be in a decently progressive (by US standards) state, but I really would rather be anywhere but here in the US. We are fucked.
If it’s any consolation, Afghan, Iraq, Guantanamo and torture already meant the US was considered a turd world country. The only difference is Americans are now seeing what we’ve known for decades.
Oh, I’ve known that we were a shithole. But I had a tiny, miniscule amount of hope that we could pull out of it in my lifetime, at least when I was a teenager and young adult. Now, I have no hope. There’s no coming back from this, at least not as the USA. Maybe if we balkanize, but that’s unlikely to happen because of our oligarchs.
Yeah I’ve got some bad news for you. For as long as I’ve been alive, at least in Canada, we’ve not had a high opinion of the US. And we like you guys more than most countries.
I’ve been painfully aware my entire life, not to worry. It’s just that there is no repairing it now, not in my lifetime. There may have been a slim chance of getting closer with our allies before a third of the country voted the dumbass in chief into office, but not anymore.
Everyone who is not in a political position laughs at him openly.
