Dayum. As a Canadian, I’ve never been more motivated to go attend a council meeting. Really crazy how a Russian politician has said something like this. I hope this bodes well for Russians, but we’ll see.

That’s the thing, he’s representing Chuvashia (or, officially, Chuvash Republic), which is where one of the ethnic minorities in russia live, the Chuvash people. They never had a say in whether they want to be part of russia, so it makes perfect sense to me they don’t trust Moscow.
