Tbf, you can swap capitalism with any ideology since communist countries aren’t exactly environmentally friendly either. Which makes sense, just because you have economic equality doesn’t exactly mean you eliminate climate change. There’s a debate to be had for which is worse for the environment, but switching ideologies doesn’t completely solve climate change in itself

Capitalism has proven itself to be utterly disastrous for the environment, what do you gain from whataboutism trying to defend it by comparing it with the USSR? The USSR doesn’t exist, we need to deal with the problems we have now, not blethering on about the past. And the problems we have right now are caused by capitalism.
