The walls are pockmarked from shrapnel and the golden arches are melted at Ukraine’s first McDonald’s. But the restaurant, a symbol of the country’s Western aspirations, still serves as a refuge in Kyiv.
I think that’s an America only thing. Sure I’m not the most loyal McCostumer (like I’m only go there if I’m out of other options) but I’ve never seen one out of service here in Europe. On the other hand I’ve heard that McDonald’s coke is better in the USA, while this side of the pond is the most watered down, flat, ass-tasting liquid one can buy legally.
The legend behind the Coke being better at McDonald’s is supposedly the ratio of syrup to carbonated water is just a hair off, it’s stored cooler than mandated and the straws are (or at least used to be) wider than average straws to allow for bigger gulps.

They just recently added boba to the US menu for that last reason.
