Interactive maps actually have the opportunity to do the right thing and just show you a globe on lower zoom levels. Wrapping a texture around a sphere is trivial for almost all hardware nowadays. That’s how I have my OsmAnd set up and it doesn’t impact performance at all. It’s a shame that not enough maps do that.
