Also, if French people take the month of August off, who is who is working at restaurants and stores? Do those people take a different month off?
This post is so American that it gave me heart disease.
You should try Lipitor
You could turn that around: if everyone eats at different times, the waiters never have time to eat because they have to work at all times.
But if everyone eats at the same time, then waiters can easily eat before or after that.

my bad
French people take the month of August off
I cannot tell if you’re serious or not. That’s false anyway.
Try to find an appointment with a doctor or administration in August and you’ll see that it’s not too far off.
Go to Italy and see some people who are doing it for real.
The French are rookies :)
I heard that French people take off work much of May and then all of August. Are you French?
Also do waiters eat after lunch and dinner service? or do they shove their faces quickly during meal service?
Are you saying french people work during August?
who is working at restaurants and stores?
Literally your own post
No, we do not work during august. We are all on strike, supermarkets are closed and we are all starving to death. That’s why the population is halved every year.
That’s the neat part. You don’t.
French chefs deserve a meal
Lower class schedule
This sounds to me like a question from an ignorant US American. I heard of someone being asked how they endure living in Germany with there being snow all the time.
Edit: My point is maybe start by asking if you’re assumptions are in fact true.
can you answer the question? Preferably without a lecture
In restaurants before service begins, the whole staff sit down to family meal or staff meal.
It is something different staff will take turns making staff meal. It is made using ingredients that may a mix of leftovers or new recipes not ready for the menu.
Waiters love winter and kitchen staff love summer so waiters work all summer through August and take February off, that is why the cooks take so long to get your food out in summer. They left the dishwasher in charge of the dinner service.
That’s how it was at the restaurant I worked at here, also the waiters were union. They all ate together before the supper shift.
I have only briefly lived in France and it’s a way back also. I never got the impression they were inflexible about eating times.
Do those people take a different month off?
Yes. It may be time for time and not a whole month at a time. Also keep in mind that those workers aren’t full-timers. ContRacts tend to be time-limited in that field, i.e. people get hired for a season with no guarantee for work after that. So people plan their own vacation time.
