Be aware that it is broken vibe coded slop.

Yeah, and they announced they’re gonna make EAC v2. It’s going to be fun running vibe coded garbage with root privileges (or whatever, I don’t play their games so I glossed over the details)

I didn’t want this trash when I had Windows. I want it so much less now on Linux because is heavily vibe coded.

If any games require this going forward, I will never buy them. It was disgusting to use before when it was human written, but now it’s not only a major security vulnerability, but it’s for sure dog shit code that was generated by script kiddies using LLMs trained on stolen data.

    Fuck Epic.

    System Requirements:

    Windows

    OS
    Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit)
    CPU
    Intel Core i3 / AMD Ryzen 3
    Storage
    700MB available

    macOS

    OS
    macOS 12 Monterey or newer
    CPU
    Apple M1 or newer
    Storage
    200 MB available

    Linux

    OS
Ubuntu 22.04 LTS or newer, Fedora 43 or newer, or Debian 12 or newer
    CPU
    64-bit, x86-64, 2GHz dual-core or newer
    Storage
    2 GB available

How TF did they manage it, that the Linux Version needs 10x as much storage as the Mac version?

Based on the title of the post, it’s an .appimage so I assume it ships all neccessary dependencies in it as well?

Wouldn’t this also be true of the Windows version though? Windows applications usually ship alongside any libraries they use.

        2GB seems way too excessive.
