Two months is wildly optimistic.
US officials have spoken with their Israeli counterparts and found the Israelis have no long term plan. They’ll hit Gaza and then have no plan for after that. It won’t solve the longterm problems or make peace any easier. It’s just a Pyrrhic victory they’re going for by this point.
The thousands killed and all of the destruction caused will ensure that Gazans will never accept peace. The raids, displacement and murders that were committed in the West bank while the world was distracted by Gaza, will ensure that the Palestinians of the West bank won’t be very happy with their government that wants peace with the oppressors.
There you go, peace is harder to achieve. Victory.
That’s their whole point, the Israeli government does not want peace they want a nation with borders delineated by the talmud and the only way to get that is to ethnically cleanse everything within those borders.
But they will use up a whole load of arsenal and buy a lot more. Money for arms dealers.
They are also most likely testing an experimental weapon in Gaza judging by reports from medical staff there who are seeing a new type of injury.

Yes, it’s terrible. It also explains a lot - while culture and religion might be reasons for ordinary people to fight, their backers who make it possible usually have a financial incentive.
Specific reportage about the likely new experimental weapons in use right now is mostly from sources like Al Jazeera but the underlying practice has been well-established by western journalists too.
But there’s no exit strategy. What changes in two months?

Then in two months Netanyahu is still in power. They did more genocide, then extend it another two months. Rinse and repeat until everyone living in Gaza is dead and then it’s time to genocide the west bank

Wars should be consensual. If one side doesn’t want war then that should be that. If the other pursues the world should stop ‘em. Kinda like same principle as rape. Like sex is great. Rape not so much.
What Israel is doing isn’t a war, it’s a genocide. They aren’t targeting militants, they’re targeting civilians.
Even Hamas (the eeeevillll terrorists) have done more to minimize civilian casualties, something like 80% of the people they’ve killed were confirmed to be soldiers, the other 20% unconfirmed but fairly likely to have been combatants as well, or at a maximum accidental crossfire.

Really? The 1500 people that Hamas killed in the attack were 80% soldiers? Or is that stat over the last few decades of conflict?
There isn’t many times when either side wants the war. They usually want something else and the war is the result of one side doing something and the other stopping them.
Everyone wants peace, every war is fought for peace. It’s just the type of peace that causes war.
Israel doesn’t want war, they want all of the people in Gaza gone. Gaza doesn’t want war, they want Israelis gone. Both have a preference for peace, just not a peace both sides will agree to.
Of course some defense companies and those that seek violence want war. But nations and most people don’t. Wars never great.
I expect most Palestinians (i.e. not Hamas) would be happy with a one-state solution with equal rights for all regardless of religion or background. Even after all the history and injustice.
When I said Gaza wants Israeli gone, it was probably an over simplification. They would probably be happy without the Israeli boot on their neck. If that’s a one state or two state solution. Being recognised as citizens with rights is probably the desire of most Palestinians.
