Wonder if they’ll use a rigid OLED panel like they did on the 7a and 8a. Dylan Raga wrote an excellent piece reviewing the Pixel 8’s display where he said they’d finally switched to a flexible OLED panel on the regular model.

They seem to be pushing their display port output for the desktop mode, are there any news regarding that ?

I really wish they’d ditch that stupid camera bar. Every phone case attempts to hide it and it just makes the whole thing needlessly thick.

My main issue with it is that it is way too thick. Most lopsided camera bumps somehow are more compact and thinner. You’d think with the amount of real estate that visor takes up they’d be able to make it flush with the rest of the back somehow, or at least match the thickness of phone cameras

Why does a flexible display matter in a rigid device? It’s not folding so what difference does it make? In other news I’m thinking about updating my 7 since the charging port is not making solid connections anymore. It’s on my car mount sideways all day every day as a trucker.

Flexible OLED panels have smaller bezels, better viewing angles and are less prone to exhibiting a rainbow effect. You can check Dylan Raga’s review of the Pixel 6, 7 and 8 to see why the 8’s display is an upgrade over the 6 and 7.

Bezels are good though. I like being able to hold my phone and not use the touch screen accidentally.

But that’s just your preference tho, most prefer smaller bezels for the looks and design is focused on what the market wants. I always use a case and screen protector anyway so maybe that’s why I never had issues with accidental touches.

Try getting a needle and digging out all the compressed fluff in the charging port. I did this (had to dig pretty hard as it was really squashed in) and saved a phone that was otherwise almost unusable!

For when internal components come unglued and start poking into the underside of the screen

Only now they’re adding display port? Has it taken this long to release no one wants your stupid downgrade of a dongle

Google better stop crippling mic volume on their phones for anything other than their own buds.
