The state’s top law enforcement official has taken the side of an imprisoned police officer over the DA who prosecuted him.

This is what passes for ‘justice’ in America. This country is among the most corrupt in the world. It is like a high tech banana republic with fantastic wealth living side by side with absolute deprivation and poverty. Fragile, racist and parochial, these people cannot be told anything. They chant USA with the conviction of someone who thinks they live in the best country. Meanwhile, the American dream becomes more achievable if you leave this shithole.

They tried to claim that because he only had ‘a superficial injury’ on his head the brain bleed couldn’t possibly have been caused by the officer. I fucking hate when nonmedical professionals try to wade into the discussion as if they have any capacity to weigh in. You don’t know shit about shit, shut the fuck up and stay in your lane.

A head injury requires no external damage whatsoever to be devastating . This case is a clear cut example of that. What’s more if this guy was just getting out of the hospital for a stroke they would have had him on blood thinners of some sort, any injury could become catastrophic easily. Not that this matters, you slam anyone’s head into the ground and it takes nothing to become fatal, we see it all the time.

Just more shithead fuckery from maga dickheads in a terrible state.

Jesus, what douchebag AG. Clearly a political move to try to curry conservative votes. No empathy for the actual people involved in the tragedy, just an opportunity to score political points with her base.

As for the actual crime, it’s pretty clear the officer’s rough treatment of the victim contributed to his eventual death. Normally, my sympathy for victims of police brutality drops when it’s clear they resisted arrest, but it does depend on the particulars. I think cops are often too quick to resort to physical force in the U.S. One lesson (among many) we absolutely should take from police forces in Europe is to rely more on words, even if it takes longer.

A common police trick is to twist someone’s arm until it’s in danger of dislocated so they panic and struggle, which gives them the excuse to use even more force and/or another charge (especially if they didn’t have a good reason to arrest them in the first place).

Mississippi AG has no respect for rule of order, like so many powerful people in the USA. Rules are for people who can’t afford to break them.
