Some of them, yes. I have family that fit your description, but I also have family filled with anger and spite. The ones who hold hate I can and will blame for it.
He was just a Fledditor. Living in a Lemmy woooorld.

Easy to figure out? But that plays right into their scheme of making the other party look like they were comitting fraud. /s
Agree. Not enough info for me to judge. Maybe Lemmings shouldn’t make this site into one for snap judgements and witch hints.
I’m not who you asked, but I often think of supression tactics against forms of free speech used in the US that some countries in the EU do less. Not all of them (UK online speech policing and arrests as a counterexample), but voter supression, union busting, and law enforcement response to protests have been handled in various countries in ways I consider more free for the citizens.
TLDR: Intimidation tactics and biased response happens less in other countries.
Rhetoric about scapegoats that distract people from the real causes of their issues, a cult of personality, and lots of money. Additionally, a lot of his voters thought he started to expose the truth behind how things actually run in the government instead of seeing how he is playing them for fools just as much (or more than) other politicians. Mostly though, it’s the money.
Not feeling like that proves selective outrage, as Trump would support and likely increase involvement with the genocide.
I like this one, but I’ve heard the term whales for gaming communities. Hobby whale is probably my go-to
Reminds me of the bot ban wave done just about a year ago. Maybe hosts will do the same again, or make account generation have a pending status.
I don’t say that about people who know sportsball players. People know the main players in their chosen media, whether they are a fan or not.
It sounds like you feel very strongly about this. Instead of shouting online in a way that accomplishes nothing (which, again, you feel very strongly about) why not volunteer your time to reach out to the group you think should be focused on? You’ll help what you think is important and maybe get some coaching on how to effectively persuade people.
You’re being an internet troglodyte. Let the Lemming use the words they want.
It feels like people make loving or hating this literally a core part of their personality, and is a good model of the enshittification of the internet. The more one side pushes, the further the other side pushes back. A new species has emerged from the mingling of internet trolls and keyboard warriors. I’m going to call it the internet troglodyte. Constantly inflamatory and escalating conflict, the trog does not troll for the lulz, but they have such strong opinions they must share them everywhere every chance they have, often harming the cause they purport while turning online spaces into echo chambers.
Yes. I’d just guess that the answer I interpret from those questions and what you interpret are different in a few ways. Understanding insensitivities that were baked into older media is valuable, and why I try to understand people’s criticism better. But just like Bill Gates giving to charity doesn’t make him a good person, having biases show up in a fictional novel doesn’t negate the moral lessons and the escapism it can offer. You seem to have a very strong opinion on the topic, and I have learned more from hearing your perspective. Thank you.
Oh yeah. He did work on loosing weight. I really liked his redemtion arc and character by the end of the books. Yeah, that was retribution from children to children. Felt very “Lord of the Flies” esque when I was reading it. I wouldn’t call that fatphobia myself, but I understand your perspective better. Thanks for the quick response.
That’s a tall order with how most people act. Disney vibes anyone? There were few things that could capture a whole generation’s imagination so strongly, and people want to bond over it. My stance is taking what you like and making new things is how we get new series’s, and fanfic has it’s place in that.
Racist I can see, but where did the other -ist and -ics come in to the story? Fatphobic? Are you talking about the part where his cousin just starts eating someone else’s birthday cake with his hands and gets magiked with a pig’s tail? Genuinely curious here, idk any of the hot garbage takes from Rowling herself since I never made and will never make a Twitter.
I agree. I don’t understand how this is important enough for someone to report on.
This is exactly why it is so hard to quit YouTube. I’m happy my alternative works again after a recent update. Haven’t found better life tutorials anywhere else.
Avoidance isn’t my goal. Reduction is. Might be the same for the other commentor
Drink out of what you want, but I like being able to scrub my reusable bottle.
Is there multiple editions, or just one run?
Edit: Looked it up. Amazon has it, but will check my local bookstore/comicstore first.
