The spirit of patenting an idea is so the creator can retain financial benifits from their ingenuity. If they sell it off and the buyer just sits on it, it is ethical to pirate. The buyer needs to make something new with the idea before they have any real contribution to the original idea.

To expand on what frongt said. An organ is a collection of specialized tissues that performs certain specific tasks. The stomach is an organ, the pancreus is an organ, and together they are part of a system. If the brain is more than one organ, we can target specific parts in the tissue differences for lab cell growth (as the article suggests), targeted medicine delivery (due to differences in autonomic braincell makup vs frontal and temporal processing tissues), and the next step in research will probably be how the two brain organs develop connections which could lead to nerve pathway repair (typically very hard to achieve).

All this cultural exposure is making me too heteronormative. How dare they influence me without consent!

I guess it depends on what flavor of witchdom. I definitely understand where you are coming from, and agree almost all is centered around helping the individual feel/be less confined by the pragmatic and concrete. At the same time, I find being unbound and abstract places me in the right headspace to consider philosophical and psychological ideas with greater satisfaction and complexity. Hermetic Alchemy in particular likes to blend the physical with the spiritual.

I’m curious. Do you have the same at odds relationship with common religions, and is it more of less contentious than with these newer movements?

Hey, do what you want. I don’t blame anyone blocking an instance any more than blocking US news. You’ll miss out on seeing witchy memes tho.

Always love to see this version of Frankenstein’s Monster represented

The fetus enemies were my least favorite. Impaling them with a spike limb was very satisfying at least.

Ok? Are you saying it’s racist because it said they were pakistani? That’s not racism.

Not just cows.

I certainly plan to bring this up to my highly catholic family members and see where their loyalty truly lies.

Yeah, I was gonna say; isn’t the free press usually the first or second to be targeted?

I guess they’re at least doing the foreign politics thing without bombs this time, so we have that going for us 🫠

Unfortunately true. Half who voted still support him after all.

You need some new voicelines. Brain might be more useful in the box for you.

Uh huh. I don’t know if you’re trying to be funny or trying to make me upset, but you do have me laughing. What is discourse without a blend of agreement and disagreement? I’m on Lemmy because I don’t want a pidgeonhole/circlejerk of everyone agreeing with everyone.

Then what are the comments for, o great sage rock?

?

Nah

Edit: plus, we already had this discussion elsewhere in the thread.
