I’ve been using Niagara forever (since at least early 2019) and it is different, but it really works for me. I’ve tried to use other launchers from time to time out of curiosity but keep coming back.

I’ll disagree. The Israeli leadership is doing horrible things and the only way for those of us not in Israel to attempt to stop them is to boycott all of Israel - we have no way of picking and choosing products/services from Israel that will help/hurt the regime. Moves like this by NVIDIA are seen as subverting the boycott in a very significant way and draw out the negative responses you see here. The only people that can legitimately change the Israeli leadership are the Israeli people and they are going to face negative opinions from outside until they do. I understand very well that I’m extremely lucky that I live in a country that has not been taken over by fascists and I do what I can to keep it that way.

I had no idea where Aya was so I looked it up. It’s about as far west as he could possibly get and still be in “Russia”. It’s probably a lovely spot on the black sea, but I’m sure there are nice places that are safer. It’s like he’s deliberately looking for ways to be aggressive and project power.

Thank you. I made a comment about it being a shame that we don’t capture the waste heat from some process a while back and someone quipped something like “2nd law of thermodynamics moment”. I went and did some reading, but couldn’t make sense of it. Your explanation makes sense.
You can’t always trust the KPatience solver for some games. I have not worked out yet which games it’s broken for but I routinely win Simple Simon games that it says can’t be won. There others, but I can’t remember which.
I also have a bit of a love/hate relationship with the solver hinting - I’d like hints to only point out moves that I’ve missed based on the cards on the table. The hints often seem to be positioning the cards for future moves.

Interesting - mine is syncthing-fork 1.30.0.4. When I go to the App Info page it says “App installed from F-Droid” and when I tap on that button I get a small pop-up that says “No such app found.”

I installed mine from F-Droid. I just went there to turn off updates and it doesn’t exist. I have not been paying attention so it may have been gone for ages and not related?

I’m not sure - I don’t measure it. It’s in my home server running Linux. It does everything I want and is >90% idle most of the time - so it’s fast enough. And I just realized I lied in my original comment - my laptop has DDR4 RAM, but it’s already at max. capacity so I won’t have to worry about buying more.

Shouldn’t be a problem for me - I plan to skip DDR4 and go straight to DDR5, or maybe what comes after, at some point. Still running 32GB DDR3 here.

In the current political climate, I can’t understand how they got visas to enter the country and then, with appropriate visas, how/why ICE allowed them to cross the border. Of course I understand how it’s possible, it just seems weirdly wrong.

I get this one. Many years ago a former wife tried to convert me. I started going to chruch, bible studies etc. and after a while I realised that none of the people I was with actually believed anything - they were just going through the motions doing the stuff you need to do to stay in the club.

33% have a college degree yet only 3% are atheist. That’s batshit crazy. I can’t imagine having the critical thinking skills needed for a degree and not using those skills to figure out that god is a fairy tale.
Yes I know lots of educated people are religious - I had several christian professors when I was studying mathematics / computer science. That doesn’t make it any less crazy to me.
I totally agree, and I just switched from Windows to Linux for my desktop, but this isn’t on Microsoft - it’s sanctions on the ICC by the fascist regime running the country where they (Microsoft) are based in support of the fascist regime destroying Gaza. (I know I’m probably over simplifying it, but that’s my take on the article)
It’s a little different, but works. I was in business operations for the last 20 years and relatively proficient with Excel. I’m retired now but I’m treasurer for a small community non profit organization. I recently switched to Linux desktop and found Calc handled my sheets with pivots etc. just fine. About the only thing I’m missing is End-Arrow to move to the last populated cell in a row or column, but not missing it so much that I’ve tried to figure out how to do it in Calc - yet.

That seems to be the case. Really sucks that the documentation at nextcloud.com directs people to the AIO. I guess they hope that if you have a bad time trying to install your own server you might buy their cloud service.

Yeah, I can see how someone that has “grown up with it” could be happy. But as and experienced sysadmin coming at it for the first time - the documentation is a bit lacking.

Yes! There used to be a little utility that could map a SMB share in Android, but that got killed years ago.

So, use something else
That’s why I’m here - looking for suggestions
like Seafile.
I’ll have another look - you’re not the only person to suggest it. My recollection is that it seemed to be old and not really maintained.
Two thoughts -
I believe (with nothing to support it) that “in the beginning” a bunch of communites were created by some sort of automation, to mirror Reddit, and they are now dead because no-one actually wanted them here in the first place and
I often join communites because I’m mildly interested in the topic and am curious to learn more by observing to conversation - I’ll probably never end up posting. I don’t have any weight to pull in this scenario.
