I’ve been annoyed by a minor change in the stock Samsung clock app for some time now. I just installed the Fossify one you linked.
Minor nitpick: 24h time doesn’t start with a leading zero.
Everything else seems exactly how it should be.
Thanks.

Ah okay, I like that implementation. Good to have it be eye-catching and not just a bunch of text. Thanks for letting me know.
Par for the course with online discussions, I’d say. Always difficult to discern the tone of a comment when it’s written down. No harm done.
Cheers!
Do you ever find there are a lot of these signs at any given time? Having them in a designated area by the entryway then maybe again by the shelf where they stock it seems like a good combination.
In my head I worry it might become overwhelming to the point no one reads them anymore. Though I suppose that could be mitigated with a large image of the recalled product, to make it easier to check at a glance without having to stop and read for a minute. I can’t remember ever seeing signage at the shops near me. I wish we had that.
Maybe I’m overthinking it and it’s a rarity to ever have more than a couple products be recalled at a single time. Can’t say I’ve put much thought into any of this before.
I understood that from your comment. I wasn’t contradicting you or challenging what you said, just wondering aloud how we might go about it and pointing out some flaws in my own point.
That said, even if this article was published the day of the recall, I imagine only a minority of the affected purchasers would ever see it. I couldn’t say I’ve ever looked at a recipes website to inform me of important consumer news.
I’m not quite sure how this would done in a timely-er fashion. Signage in the stores? In theory, anyone paying with plastic could have been contacted through the card company.
That would involve the manufacturer alerting the store, the store alerting all the various card companies, then the card companies alerting the customer. That’s a lot of infrastructure to keep running and to do so fast enough that the customer finds out within a day or two of the recall.
Expensive. Worthwhile given the potential to save lives or hospital stays, but you know how companies are.
This would also involve admitting all your purchase history is collected and stored in a way that is not anonymized, which I don’t think people would quite like to be explicitly told about.
Sure, gram for gram, Tony’s has 34% more lead than California would like, but their chocolate is still sold in the state.
To add to what @Maalus@lemmy.world pointed out, the Mast bar is 70g for $8, while Tony’s bar is 180g for $6.
Gram for gram, Mast is more than triple the price.
In theory, Sponsorblock could evolve to download a new video multiple times, check what frames match each copy, and use that data to skip to the next matching frame when users watch something.
This would overcome video stream ad injection even if every ad was a different length and in a different location each time someone watched the video.
You just know someone in the chain wanted to be able to say, ‘we were the first’, then they got fact checked and had to add in that qualifier of commercially available ground station.
Surely any rational individual already acknowledges that subject as lunacy. The segment of people that after seeing the joke would fall victim to the conspiracy is bound to be smaller than the segment that find it mildly amusing.
Strikes me as fishy that the finance ministry went to court with Apple to say ‘no don’t pay tax’.
If they don’t want the tax, have the cheque made out to the EU.
“Ireland does not give preferential tax treatment to any companies or taxpayers,” stated a spokesperson from the Irish Ministry of Finances.
I wish the media would eviscerate these people like they used to.
Not exactly related to this article but, I looked this judge up on Ballotpedia, and found this funny little tidbit.
Judge Merchan handed the Trump Organization a $1.6M fine in that tax case a couple years ago. The District Attorney for Manhattan, Alvin Bragg, said:
“While corporations can’t serve jail time, this consequential conviction and sentencing serves as a reminder to corporations and executives that you cannot defraud tax authorities and get away with it.”
What a head of cabbage. As if a couple million dollars is anything to these corporations. These fines need to be double digit percentages of revenue before they get viewed as anything other than a line item on the expense report.
As someone that tries to condense posts and comments, I have ‘Show action bar by default for comments’ disabled. Now, as score location has been altered, I’m not able to see comment score. More problematic is there’s no longer an indication of whether I have already voted on a comment or not.
In order to get this information now, I either must enable the action bar for every comment which fills a lot of the screen with buttons that I don’t need, or press and hold the comment to expand the action bar manually. This is a reduction in displayed information that doesn’t seem proportional to the benefit of a ‘cleaner’ style.
At the very least, I’d think the score should be put back next to the commenter’s name when the action bar is disabled.
Oddly enough, last year I used dish soap in the laundry for a few months without noticing, and nothing like this happened. I was surprised when I looked it up and saw this kind of thing as a common occurrence. Couldn’t believe I had picked up this container each weekend for months without noticing the picture of plates and glasses on the front.
I understand now these soaps are quite different from one another and the fact nothing happened to me is a fluke, so definitely don’t do this on purpose.
Funny how I even typed December and it didn’t click in my head it was a different season.
Writing when tired isn’t a recipe for well thought comments evidently.
I was curious about what happens to the roads at these temperatures and turns out, they melt.
Oddly, this article seems to say last December nearly tipped 50, so not really sure what to believe about record setting. Either way, it’s not good.
I didn’t format my comment to show it was a quote from Ron Johnson as Jerboa crashes time to time when adding a link to text, and I ignored formatting altogether the third time I tried to make the comment. I’ve edited it to include what should have been there in the first place.
My client crashed twice when trying to add a link in to my comment, and then I’m frustration I neglected to add it when it when I wrote it the third time. I have edited the comment to reflect the fact that it’s a direct quote from a climate denying senator. Apologies.
I see your point, but I also saw Juiced Bikes go out of business last month after 15 years in the industry.
