  • Lol it’s so funny how many bad takes there are in this thread. But saying that the government knows everything g you owe is one of the worst one.

No they fucking don’t. Sometimes they aren’t even sure that someone who got both his legs cut off needs disability, or that they can’t regrow their legs.

Or that a dead person can’t have a job.

Like, there are plenty of independent contractors and businesses that need to report their income, ecause how the fuck would they know that ?

  • I feel like YOU are missing the point. Even tho you say exactly why this matters the most.

Yes market respond to demand. Compa oes DGAF whether they pollute, only that people buy. That’s why the ONLY solution is that all these companies are regulated to pollute less. If everyone has to, then they are still equal and people won’t buy a cheaper alternative that happens to be more polluting.

Hell, I’d go as far as to say that it only matters if the top 5-10 countries do it. If China, USA, and India don’t do this, the entire world is fucked and there is nothing to be done by anyone else.

  • I’m very pro union. But not all unions are good. My father’s union is so bad he might actually be losing money. They just roll over for management to fuck them, barely negotiate anything at all. Last time, they ‘negotiated’ an increase in pay, and the increase was actually SMALLER than the increase in union dues.

Oh, and they only defend the worst of the worst. Litteral thief, stealing, caught on camera, multiple times ? Well defend you tooth and nails. 'Til the management litterally had to get police involved for them to back down.

Unions in general are good. But for some specific unions, ymmv.

  • Feel like I had very covid-like symptoms a couple of times. Not quite like a flu, similar, but a little different.

Tested myself every time, always negative. Not sure if it’s a false negative, or a variant that doesn’t get a result on those tests tho. Almost hard to believe i never caught it tho, as I have been exposed a couple of times too.

  • After some tweaking of settings, games runs fine. I shouldn’t HAVE to do those things, but it’s doing fine now

For reference, 3700x, rtx 2070s. Game heavily gpu bound. 50-60fps, no lag, no stutter , no whatever, honestly I never noticed losing a couple of fps, and that’s just in crowded cities/areas, in other place it’ll go higher.

    What I did :

    • update drivers
    • installed free dlss mod from nexus
    • most setting on medium, render scale 50%, shadows on low

After doing this, everything has been 100% fine and never had any other issues. Before, I sometimes had slideshow in new Atlantis, heavy stutter, occasionnal massive fps drops. But these 3 things have 100% resolved my issues entirely

  • Is what you host publicly accesible? If not, then it’s not even a concern. You could even host unsafe apps, but if you know they are entirely inaccessible, it wouldn’t change a thing.

As for php itself, it’s mostly due to the fact it’s by far and wide overwhelmingly crushing the competition. A quick Google search says it’s used by about 80% of websites. So, it has, by far, the most (negative) publicity, biggest target, and most inexperienced/bad devs working on it. Software is as secure as its made. Junior dev don’t often think about security. It’s bigger, so it happens more often.

  • I don’t have to bother with ads on desktop, TV, phone, nor on my gf’s devices. I don’t have to find work around, use sideloaded apps or whatever. And youtube is by far and wide my most watched platform, has been for years.

It also includes youtube music, which has been my exclusive music platforms, either to play during work, household chores, on my phone or on my Google home, or in the car.

To me, it’s not even a question if it’s worth it. If anything, it’s my Netflix, crunchyroll, hidive subs that I should drop. They are replaced way more easily
