Years ago when I told coworkers I got engaged I kept hearing “you’re making a mistake” and “why?” I knew immediately that these dudes were losers that did not value their partner as much as I do. I could not imagine being without my wife. She is my best friend, companion, champion, confidant, partner in life among so many other things. Find the right person to share your life with, marriage is an investment.

I wouldn’t call myself a wrestling fan but I see the entertainment/art in professional wrestling. Like anything else entertainment wise it’s an escape for the viewers. Sure the outcome of matches are pre determined but it’s the entire spectacle that you get lost in and forget about the forged display. I never watched WWE growing up but I always heard about John Cena being a charismatic well liked person in and out of the ring. I’m sure the headlines fit more into sports feeds rather than the arts/theater section.

Ecobee thermostats have an automatic feature that does that. I only use the dedicated heat/cool settings since there aren’t wild shifts like that in my area.

I just left a job I’ve hated for a long time. My wife and I had our first child late last year and she’s been on maternity leave since. We thought about childcare for when she returned to work and we would end up basically giving away my entire paycheck for a stranger to watch our baby. My wife knew I’ve been unhappy at work for years so she suggested that I quit and take care of the kid for 6 months then look for something down the road. We get great insurance through her work and we talked to a financial advisor to stash away enough money to cover my part of our expenses plus our emergency fund in the mean time.

Yeah it’s unsettling to not know what the next 6 months has in store but it really does feel like the right move just to be with my daughter to witness these monumental developments she will be making. This world has me fucked up in a lot of ways but I look at her smiling face and it all melts away. Work to live, don’t live to work. Family comes first and your employer will never be your family.
