I don’t know why but the feeling that pops up in my head is basically “what it feels like to be 7 years old and you have no idea about what this weird glass is but the sprite is the only thing that matters”.

And as you sit there deep in thought you feel something tickle your nethers, you think little of it at first but as soon as you feel it again you shift your position and look down. At the same moment your mind comprehends that it’s the hand of an otter, that very hand grabs ahold of your dangling valuables and pulls. You are never seen again.
That’s been a thing since before the official mod tools.
Even people you’d really expect to use adblockers. A good example is right here on Lemmy, people here are generally pretty tech-savvy yet you get threads with lots of people complaining about ads. This has been a weird lesson as I get older, seeing that most people somehow don’t even think about lifting a finger to fix things they see as problems, they really just complain and then do absolutely nothing to help themselves. It’s the same with if someone mentions something they don’t know what it is, instead of taking 5 seconds to just look it up they comment to ask about it and then never reply to people answering their question. I’m certain that it’s very common to have some weird need to make others do work for you, they don’t actually care about finding out what something is or how to do something to fix a problem, they just care about making others spend any kind of effort for them.
I’m absolutely loving it, it’s unbelievably gorgeous and the gameplay is fun.
My only real complaint is that I’m the story is too short, I was so surprised when the “this is the end mission, you’ll be locked out of the rest of the game until this is finished” warning popped up, I thought I was only halfway there. So I’ve put that on hold and I’m now fully exploring everything else. I really hope they make several big expansion for it, with new planets etc.
Did you have a stroke while writing that?
I’m an older millennial who generally dislikes new words like that but this is the one that I fully accept. It’s just a good word, you don’t need any prior knowledge the understand it either, it just works.
I always thought it looked cool, I don’t see what was so “mid” about any of the previews.
The ignorance you display here is just depressing.
“Video not rated, login to watch.”
No, I will not do that.
There is definitely pestering, doesn’t matter what they say or do. People will always pester so all we can do is hope it doesn’t get to them, which we’ve seen happen many times to others. But I don’t think there’s a reason to worry here, they know what they’re doing.
It definitely applies to most Americans here too. Almost anything that’s exclusively US is posted like nothing else exists. Both thread and comments are written like they aren’t aware the rest of the world exists. It’s VERY prevalent here just like anywhere else online, and it’s infuriating for everyone outside the US.
I have a 12-year-old stepbrother whose friends like me too so they often tag along when we hang out. I’ve had them say “That’s the guy/thing from Fortnite!” (Or other random games) so many times. I’ve had to explain several times that everything in that game is from other popular games, movies etc. (As far as I know, never played it myself).
It’s fine when it’s some random old meme or viral thing that I wouldn’t expect them to know, I just see that as a chance to show them what it comes from. They’ve become fans of stuff like the peanut butter jelly time song with the dancing banana, crazy frog, Tay Zonday (chocolate rain guy) and more.
But way too many times they’ve said that for things I know that they know what the original characters are from, it’s just that they mainly know those characters from fortnite or whatever so that’s what they think of. I tease them for it, in a playful way of course, but it does get kinda irritating.
Ooh, pretty sure that’s the same kind of case I had on my first computer!
Why… just hit printscreen to bring up the selection UI.

Eh, I’ve found highs just as good in many other games since then. Currently getting them in Warframe, started playing a couple of months ago and having an absolute blast. You’ll never find the exact same “high” from something in anything else, let those moments be and welcome new ones. You have that memory, it’ll never go away and you’ll always be able to get some of that feeling from the memory itself.
It’s the same with love, some people spend their whole lives trying to find a specific kind they once had, and by doing so they push away all the new kinds that are able to become just as strong and important.
It does make sense though, we’ve seen anti-trans, gay, abortion etc. conservatives be found out to take part in that very thing they’re publicly against so many times, and it’ll keep happening. Them wanting to classify trans as pornographic means they see it as that and they like it and hate themselves and transpeople for it.
