Probably the hardest part of React, for me, was getting used to the callbacks. Passing data up to the parent component using a function. It’s a little difficult to get used to if you haven’t encountered it already
No mention on a cause in this article, curious what it was
Pragmatic Programmer is OK, there’s not any code that I can remember and it’s just general purpose, helpful ideas for programmers to follow
This is so wacky it’s astounding.
You don’t buy a company for their servers or employees, those can be found elsewhere for the same price. You buy a company for its users and its brand. To throw away one of the most icon brands in the world, which is present in the footer of every major website in the world, is baffling.
What is the end game here?
Thanks to everyone who is contributing! Awesome to see all these changes and fixes
Anything else of note so far? How big is the “Fuck spez” section relative to the whole canvas?
Also how long until admins “fix” it, I wonder…
Inflation is a fickle bitch.
I think this is just so funny. They took what was simple, made it way too complex, and are now scrapping the whole concept which has been around for a decade because it’s too cluttered because of the complexity they introduced
You can also print at a library in the US
I prefer Edge to Chrome (for Chromium uses, Firefox all the way for anything else), but Edge is starting to get so bloated. It’s becoming reminiscent of the old Internet Explorer toolbars. They just have so many features the screen is getting cluttered
Reddit (and Boost, the app I used before) offered several different layout styles that you could pick from (e.g. cards, list). Are those the types of layouts you’re referring to? Those could be added, I expect, and the more the merrier
Or do you mean more specific layout details like where the voting buttons are?
Jeroba is great and open source (and free)! Rather than “better Lemmy apps” why not just improve the one that already exists?
Did the same this morning but with Boost. End of an era, really
No one has said it yet, but I find Raft to be incredibly relaxing. Especially if you just ignore objectives and just sit there collecting debris. It can be so tranquil and a ton of fun
Plex has a random button for movies and TV so often my friends/family and I will play a game I like to call the random game.
Everyone gets 1 veto, and any movie can be skipped by majority vote. Just keep hitting the random button until something sticks. Eventually you’ll hit a movie to watch, and it’s never failed to be a good time.
Bonus game is try to guess the movie first - unfortunately I usually win because I put the movies on there so I know the approximate list of options.
