It sounds invasive. Like it’s a private intelligence agency and not a chat bot.

Cow town has no chill. I’m tempted to take on another job, but right now I only have one day completely off and it’s just. Not. Enough. Time.
Like, I have to decide each week how much cleaning gets done or if I’m making food that week. There isn’t enough time to do cleaning and shopping, and I’m busy most days 10am-1am between work and school, assuming I sleep 7 hours a night.
I work 35 hours a week, and I go to university for around 25. Last year I had 7 day weeks all year and it was very much not fun.
I could do it if I had to for a bit, but the whole ‘being too exhausted to exist’ thing gets old fast.
I picked up a flip4 just before the 5 was announced. They had a same whew you could trade in an older phone. I think I paid $500CAD + iPhone 12 mini for mine.
I’m 100% a flip convert. My only real complaint is the height, I would love a slightly smaller phone. The fact that it fits in all my pockets, I can put it anywhere without worrying about the screen, I can do things like small payments/ camera/ flashlight without opening it up. I love this thing and I can’t imagine doing back.
I had to replace the screen protector last winter, turns out -40C causes it to lift up from the crease, but$20 later this protector held up all year.
I think about 10 minutes in Canada. Maybe 15 when I was in Vancouver.
A couple years ago they introduced Buddy Christ to try and drum up some interest but it didn’t go anywhere.
Also, why would a religious institution with a modern problem with child abuse is a child as an icon, seems pretty unaware.
May as well throw in a unicorn and two perpetual motion machines.
I’m going into my midterm in 30 minutes where we will be desicrating the corpses of trees.
I’m in university and I’m hearing this more and more. I keep trying to guide folks away from it, but I also understand the appeal because an LLM can analyze the code in seconds and there’s no judgements made.
It’s not a good tool to rely on, but I’m hearing more and more people rely on it as I progress.
The best part about this, is that new models will be trained on the garbage from old models and eventually LLMs will just collapse into garbage factories. We’ll need filter mechanisms, just like in a Neal Stephenson book.
This reminds me when my mom told my dad Netflix didn’t serve their area because she didn’t want another bill.
He told me that and I was like “Well…” and my mom just yelled from the other room “I JUST CALLED THEY’RE TRYING FOR NEXT YEAR.” so I shut up.
I haven’t seen any studies, I seem to remember there was some news reports many years ago.
I do know that I’ve stood in my living room, on the same wifi, and looked art the same item from Amazon on my phone and my brother in laws phone and seen different prices. But that’s just another anecdote.
What the company profits from my labor, less expenses.
I make $19.40 as a solo arena attendant. We charge $130 minimum for an hour of ice time up to $250.
I’m not privvy to what the lights/ refrigeration system cost to run per hour, but I’m sure it’s not the total difference.
TIL Timecube is no longer up. That was my go to site for what the internet used to be like.
Yeah, sometimes there’s something else outside could have been saying but not here.
Here it’s clear as day. And the host says nothing at all, which says a ton about her.
Thank you. I was too lazy to find it.
So, at one point there was 14 competing standards. That was too many, so a bunch of nerds got together and made one all encompassing standard. One that had all the best parts of each other standard.
Now we have 15 competing standards.
The author gets to the crux near the end. Trump supporters don’t come to speeches for policy, they come for performance art. That’s what they expect from their leaders, because that’s what they’re trained to expect.
Between American entertainment trying to blur the lines between fantasy/ reality, and 24 hour news networks making everything a big deal the public at large has atrophied critical thinking skills.
I lost my friggin glasses two weeks ago, it’d be nice to find them.
Just so I’m the first one to utter the phrase:
"We have credible reports from Windows Intelligence that a crime has been committed, your computer is going to restart. "
