  • As a lefty, I would hate having to control the shifter with my left hand; it feels a lot more natural on the steering wheel. Furthermore, I don’t understand why right hand drive cars don’t have mirrored transmissions. Having first gear be away from you would be so weird.

Also I prefer to play guitar right-handed as well, because why would I want to have my dominant hand do the strumming? It makes a lot more sense for me to do the fretting with my left hand, since it is more difficult than strumming.

If you build the Win11 ISO using Rufus instead of Microsoft’s own Media Creation Tool, you have options to prevent this bullshit from happening.

I’ve been using Win11 with an offline account for years, and everything works as it should, even the MS Store. I never have to deal with Microsoft Account bullshit ever.

  • In the early 2000s there was this website called dll-files.com or something like that, and every time that error popped up (which happened a lot in the 90s and 2000s), you’d go to that website, download the missing file, and 99% of the time it would fix the problem. These days I’d advise against obtaining random DLL files from the internet but back then it was like magic.

  • Where were you in the 80s, 90s, and 2000s? People have historically hated programmers. They’ve been picked on for so long that they made a documentary about it called Revenge of the Nerds.

Then something shifted in the 2010s and suddenly it’s now cool to be into technology. I used to be picked on for being on the computer all the time, now everyone is addicted to their pocket computer, even the ones who made fun of me for it! It’s so bad that we have an entire generation of children who can’t function without being glued to a screen 24/7. I don’t get what happened. Engagement algorithms?

I vibe coded an autohotkey script to automate most of my job. It works reasonably well, and frees up enough time that I can now get paid to browse the web. The only part I can’t automate with a vibe-coded script is physically moving documents to the scanner, but if I figured out a way to automate that with robotics then my company wouldn’t need me anymore.
