Yes and I hate them cause it’s a pain in the ass having to route all my drives around them. Some trips take me 3x as long as they should cause of that stupid privacy-invading bullshit.

I honestly didn’t know what they were thinking with that commercial. Why would you proudly advertise that you’ve built a massive surveillance network, during one of the most-watched yearly televised events too for that matter? Did they seriously believe that there wouldn’t be a major backlash? I mean I appreciate the blunt honesty in that commercial so I’ll give them credit for that.

Excellent; thanks for the heads up. I’ll avoid the drama and pirate any component that requires a licensing fee.

Yeah and I’m asking you to please don’t lol
What’s wrong with being anti-CCP? I hate China’s corrupted government almost as much as I hate the USA’s.

As a lefty, I would hate having to control the shifter with my left hand; it feels a lot more natural on the steering wheel. Furthermore, I don’t understand why right hand drive cars don’t have mirrored transmissions. Having first gear be away from you would be so weird.
Also I prefer to play guitar right-handed as well, because why would I want to have my dominant hand do the strumming? It makes a lot more sense for me to do the fretting with my left hand, since it is more difficult than strumming.

I will when someone makes a GPU that can surpass a 4090. Not even Nvidia themselves can pull that off, so I’m not getting my hopes up.
I’m going to be stuck with this GPU for the next decade the way things are going…not that I’m complaining. It’s a beast of a card, especially for someone like me who could only ever afford bargain bin parts until one day I came into a windfall. (That was a fun 4 years.) I don’t have to worry about games being unoptimized because I can simply brute force them with pure GPU processing power. I was getting 90 FPS in Last of Us on launch. Even Cities Skylines 2 runs smoothly.

There’s an official Lemmy app? Is it better than Voyager?

Leave it in HDR next time. As someone who owns an HDR monitor and a phone with an HDR display, there is simply not enough content out there outside of movies and games.

IDK I was able to remap it just fine using Power Toys.

Does anyone know what the viewership numbers for the All Racist Halftime Show were compared to the official one? (Amazing performance by Bad Bunny, BTW. The choreography and props were so good it looked like a music video.)

Which emulator fixes the wobbling and upscales the textures again? The games I’ve seen in that emulator look great, nearly as good as PS2 games.
If you build the Win11 ISO using Rufus instead of Microsoft’s own Media Creation Tool, you have options to prevent this bullshit from happening.
I’ve been using Win11 with an offline account for years, and everything works as it should, even the MS Store. I never have to deal with Microsoft Account bullshit ever.
In the early 2000s there was this website called dll-files.com or something like that, and every time that error popped up (which happened a lot in the 90s and 2000s), you’d go to that website, download the missing file, and 99% of the time it would fix the problem. These days I’d advise against obtaining random DLL files from the internet but back then it was like magic.

Are these people unaware that YouTube Shorts is a thing?

Where were you in the 80s, 90s, and 2000s? People have historically hated programmers. They’ve been picked on for so long that they made a documentary about it called Revenge of the Nerds.
Then something shifted in the 2010s and suddenly it’s now cool to be into technology. I used to be picked on for being on the computer all the time, now everyone is addicted to their pocket computer, even the ones who made fun of me for it! It’s so bad that we have an entire generation of children who can’t function without being glued to a screen 24/7. I don’t get what happened. Engagement algorithms?

Don’t sign into Windows with an online account. You can still do offline only accounts and it fixes this problem. The Microsoft Store still works too but IDK why you’d use that.
I vibe coded an autohotkey script to automate most of my job. It works reasonably well, and frees up enough time that I can now get paid to browse the web. The only part I can’t automate with a vibe-coded script is physically moving documents to the scanner, but if I figured out a way to automate that with robotics then my company wouldn’t need me anymore.

My entire job depends on such an app, so this is a bit of a relief.
I don’t remember pedaling my eBike, either. With a big enough motor, they’re all but completely vestigal.
