That’s out of the box. No configuration necessary. The default behaviour in Plasma when pressing the Windows key is to open the application menu where you can start typing to find what you want. In fact it’s kind of a pain to disable that, and will sometimes re-enable itself randomly as I recently found out (I prefer WIN+D to open the app menu from my i3 days, and I work in an RDP connection to a windows machine where I would prefer to be able to just press WIN to open that menu and not KDEs menu.)

What’s worse is that YouTube sometimes doesn’t do that, i.e. when you hit back it shows the same list from the cache or something. It gives you hope and makes it worse on those occasions when it does fully refresh on back.

I can’t really explain it. I was as surprised as anyone when I realized I can’t remember the last time I saw a mosquito.

It’s Calgary, Canada. The climate is fairly arid, but there are definitely mosquitos in the area. I just haven’t seen one in a long time, despite being outside for at least a couple of hours every day.

I suspect if I walked along the river more I’d see some though.

They exist here. I just live inner city and never see them.

It’s the same story in US and Canada. Illegal, but not really enforced. And when it is enforced the the penalties aren’t strong enough to be a deterrent.

It’s against FTC regulations in the US too. The trick is getting them to enforce it.

Most people have only vague memories before they’re 5 or 6, so that’s not so uncommon. I, an elder millennial, have lots of memories from before I was 6, but only because I have a big life event that happened when I was 6 that marked a “before time” and “after time” allowing me to easily place memories before or after the age of 6. All of my memories from the “before time” are vague and hard to place at specific ages except for a specific few that I can place due to houses I lived in at the time and what my parents told me.

I wouldn’t say I wasn’t self-aware in the “before time” but I definitely don’t remember it as well as what came in the “after time”. I’m sure that is what the above poster is referring to.

I’ve never heard of that type of action occurring anywhere else.

IIRC Exanima itself was never meant to be the full open world RPG. It was always intended to be a smaller game to perfect some of the game mechanics for their ultimate goal of building that open world RPG. I have no idea if they still plan to build that other game or if they are working on it in parallel or have ditched it entirely.

Edit: The community seems to believe that the devs are still planning to make Sui Generis at any rate. Exanima has been in EA for 10 years or so now, and based on what I’m seeing online they are almost at their 1.0 release version, at which point they will divert their attention to to Sui Generis. Take with a pinch of salt, as this information comes from the r/exanima community on reddit.

Yeah, that’s one of the geographical differences I was alluding to. In Canada it can mean either depending on context.

As an English speaker I would naturally interpret “You are worth dick” and “you are not worth dick” in the same way.

This is English, but Canada specific as far as I know.

“Fucking the dog” - means to slack off, particularly at work.

“I fucked the dog all day at work today” basically means I got nothing done.

It is distinct from “screw the pooch” which means to fuck something up badly.

That’s generally true, but there are some exceptions. For instance. “I’m pissed” can either mean “I’m drunk” or “I’m angry” depending on where you are and the context.
