If you go to a community there is an option to block it (different than filter). It blocks it server side, but I didnt see the option to unblock in sync.

The term in Sync is Filter in the post options, Block in the community options

Pixel phones come with a clean Android OS experience. I must tell it is worth to try, and you can even isntall Graphene OS if you want.
