  • I wouldn’t say we’re afraid. I don’t particularly like speaking on the phone though, but it’s alright, I even worked call center for a while so it doesn’t bother me much these days.

Anyways, essentially texting is just more efficient. I can’t speak for everyone else, but for instance at work, I hate it when I have a question or need assistance on a specific topic, ask on my team chat and have a couple of people saying “quick call?”.

If it’s something really complex, fine… that’s fair. Other than that? It’s just so inefficient. I can be working on something else and just reply during my off time between tasks, same with whoever I ask help from. Also, most of the time I’m listening to music, or I have my TV with ambience sound on the background. So then I have to turn everything off just so I can go for a 5minute call for something that could be done over chat on the same amount of time.

Sorry this comment turned out way longer than I thought it would.

  • I am a PC/Android user, always have been. I am a hard apple hater, I’ve tried to keep up with the new devices though, and I’ve also repaired them in the past. I hate apple mostly due to just not liking to be locked on my device (lack of customization but that has been getting better AFAIK), the fact that the phone feels boring, the overpricing, the not friendly right to repair, the stupid lightning ports (Thanks EU), the “elitist” feeling…

But god damn are these new SOCs making me reconsider… I was already very pleasantly surprised with the Mac computers recently. I think apple silicon is just waaaay ahead at the moment. If competition doesn’t catch up somehow soon, I think apple’s monopoly will only grow.

Also, AMD over Nvidia. Not saying it’s better, but I’ll always go team red. Just like Apple, I hate nvidia’s business practices.

  • My parents are (early) Gen X. In general I don’t think you are transparent or ignored. I’m not saying this isn’t your case though.

I appreciate my parents and even though they are “outdated” on some stuff, I value them immensely. For instance, if it wasn’t for my dad I likely would never have gotten into omputers. And that would’ve led me not have my current job (probably). I owe everything to them.

In fact, in my country at least (not US), I’m pretty sure Boomers + Gen X make up the majority of the voting power due to declining birth/death rates. (These stats are 100% pulled out of my ass, so they can very well be wrong.)

So, if anything you’re the ones who hold more power (again, in my country at least).

What I’m trying to say is, things aren’t as black and white as this stupid memes make them seem. We’re all collectively messed up somehow. :)

  • As a gw2 veteran (in the sense of owning the game for a long time, not that I am very good at it) I’m pretty sure you’ll like it! I honestly feel sad for how overlooked GW2 is…

The community is great, don’t be afraid to ask for help if you’re stuck on a quest or a puzzle. More often than not people will go out of their way to help you!

Never heard of skill up but now I’m curious about their review :)

Edit: I haven’t tried the new Xpack yet, but I’ve heard it’s great! Might buy it later on discount since I’m not planning on playing for a couple of months at least.

  • I’ve read an article that they were about to get a lot more common outside of the US. Apparently they can better “tune” emissions that way and since there are heavy fines and a lot of control going forward that’s the argument they are using.

Also apparently manual gears are more expensive to manufacture, I think. Again I read this on an article sometime ago so it could just be BS, I can’t seem to find which it was.

Imo, they just want to greenwash this change. In reality they can save money and improve scalability and just standardize everything.

  • Yeah, I’ve noticed I do feel more at ease on my living room now. But the only console I own is a Nintendo switch and I games that aren’t multiplayer bore me faster, and switch’s multiplayer games don’t really speak to me too much…

Well you could in theory, use XPadder or something like that to play with a remote controller on PC. It’s not ideal by any means though…

With that + steam streaming to the TV App (just add the game as non steam) you could play WoW. Not anything competitive though lol. Just questing simple stuff or easier dungeon content.
