I shopped around and recently got a new CRM that works better for what our company is doing, and helps keep tabs on everyone’s workload and time tracking and it’s so good.

And I’m not even managing anyone, my department is a one-man army. It’s just really really nice to be able to hold yourself accountable, take relevant notes for future reference, and see what workload I have every day. I’m still busy and stressed to fuck, but the load off my brain trying to remember every single job I have is phenomenal.

I don’t need a meeting or a phone call or an hour standing at anyone’s desk, I just open a dashboard and go ‘Cool I can see what’s coming, whats been done, whos working on it, and all the documentation and logging I need to be informed about how it effects my work’ in seconds.

Hi! I work with google ads every day, it’s my job, and I have a business running ads for other small businesses.

Guess what, I use an ad blocker!

If all ads were innocent businesses trying to sell things I’m interested in, and they all had their targeting set up correctly, it’d be great. Unfortunately, all my ads are “you are male and under 60” and that’s as sophisticated as the targeting has been set to, so they’re totally irrelevant, terrible ads.

Also, my other issue is that some advertising platforms have really low standards for what you’re allowed to show. Google at least has some standards and is sometimes overzealous with its automated disapprovals, which hopefully makes its platform a little better. But I don’t get to choose which platform ads I see when I visit someone’s site (and Google pays very little when compared to other platforms)

They’re just cheap shit. I don’t buy cheap shit, I have a premium chair that I bought used for a fraction of the price, cheaper than a “gamer chair” 🫣
