Yes, I realize that.
You do realize that this kind of attack happened after spectre and meltdown? Apple knew of the risks, but decided to ignore them.

“Hey guys, maybe we shouldn’t use a name that’s so easily misspelled by normal people.” - words that are never said among free software circles
Why does it have to be about privacy? Why can’t it be about not centralizing power into a handful of for-profit entities?
Looks like pixelfed is just for pictures.
Seems like it’s the instagram to mastadon’s twitter.
Why do people buy anything besides drugs at a CVS?
If you think a website is unsafe, don’t open it.
Ahh yes, back to the dark ages of the internet where just clicking the wrong link can completely compromise your system.
Thanks crapple and its useful idiots.
The main issue with these vulnerabilities is a loss in performance when the microcode patch gets applied.
On a more philosophical note, it’s also a trend to release insecure products to tout performance metrics. Intel did it. Now it’s apple’s turn.
Don’t trust corporations, ever.
You’re definitely onto something. This isn’t the first time corporations have targeted FOSS, but because Linux is gaining in popularity we’re starting to see the old FUD and EEE tactics come back into play.
Once we start seeing more normal people using it, primarily women, we’ll also see tons of misinformation that exists to sow the seeds of doubt in their minds.
Probably something like the old “mac vs. PC” commercials but with “windows vs. linux”
I don’t use facebook, but I’m seeing Linux brought up way more among the consumer tech-crowd.
Looks like they all want to fit in with each other by resisting “windows surveillance.”
Personally, I think it’s pretty stupid where they decide to draw the line, almost like they’re not even making the decision for themselves. But I’ll still accept it if it causes more people to drop proprietary software.
“prevailing narrative”
Definitely need to keep this concept in minds in our age of misinformation.
Just because something is said a lot on the internet does not mean it’s an accurate indication of reality.
Greed wins.
All the proud consumerists on the left have themselves to blame/thank for voting for the lesser-evils.
Thanks for the archive link.
Not true. A nation doesn’t need tariffs to help with preparations unless they’re also trying to maintain the dominance of their ruling classes.
Tariffs mean we have to pay for it instead of them. They can afford it, but they won’t foot the bill unless they are forced to.
and freak out about tariffs wrecking their bottom line.
Nooooooooo. You got it all wrong! (seriously)
The ruling class wants the tariffs because tariffs artificially increase the price of their competitors’ products! The entire point is to literally block people from getting a better deal outside of the US, so those same people can get screwed over domestically.
Tariffs are not good for the working class.
They only exist to protect the profits of the rulers.

Do not be fooled. Tariffs are not good for us.
Couldn’t imagine falling for the propaganda on either side and getting swept up in this war.
If anyone forced me to fight, they’d be the first people I shoot at.

Don’t be fooled. War is for idiots.
We need to stop supporting establishment democrats.
They stay in power by making us lose slower…
Good. If Americans want to be competitive with China, they can start by charging less money.
Yes, and Apple decided to do the same thing knowing the risks.
“Intel did it!” is not a panacea for apple; it makes things worse for them.
