This is awesome! Side note for Memmy users… how do you view all 7 images here? Not working!

Tap the community button on the top left hand side, or right depending on the app you’re using, then follow the menu commands until you reach the proper page and then shove it up yo butt
This is why I love every moment on Mandalorian when they say the Jedi are dead. A harry potter wizardy religious cult with gigantic laser wands
I is the because me buttcheeks red
It’s a classic tactic, you open up compatibility with an open source platform so everyone moves to the fancy app that supports it all (threads) then they drop support and kill the platform (fediverse). They’ll do it and will likely be successful unless they’re blocked completely right now.
Awesome to the max
I’ve watched this place explode since Monday, this is just the beginning
The Memmy client on iOS convinced me, essentially same Apollo experience with a nicer and more informed community. Seems like everyone who actually participated on Reddit is moving here
This looks like a paid business vpn… are you even hosting it? I don’t get it
From your language I assume you are just starting out with security, and it’s common to arm up right away and be very cautious. Remember that social engineering is by far the most exploited and successful method, and even if bots are attacking your home network, they’re automated and will move on. Simply don’t run services at home that are public or exploitable, and if you do use tools like fail2ban. You can self host a vpn or proxy on a cloud instance if you really want to maintain your privacy, but then quantum computers exist now and they can decrypt everything you do on the internet in moments.
Everything is on someone else’s server, unless you are actively committing crime I’m quite sure not a soul gives a shit about your traffic
Setting up your own wireguard vpn at home is a great option. Look up pivpn. I recommend setting the port to 443 or network time (123) to spoof your traffic and have it work everywhere
The raspi is either a small hacking tool, or a learning tool. It certainly isn’t ideal for things like nextcloud, but it is by far the coolest and most fun way to learn Linux and self hosted services. I ran emulation station, did nextcloud, pihole, pivpn, fail2ban, did robotics, learned python. I now use it for one thing - pivpn (Wireguard) and pihole to access my home network remotely
They’re actually delicious, had a roasted one in Vietnam
