My company enforces specific add-ons for Firefox so I installed and use LibreWolf which our admins don’t lock down - only Chrome and Firefox. I wanted a browser that I would use separately from my work that didn’t specifically need their add-ons which include traffic sniffing crap. I know that if I want to do any personal browsing and guarantee it’s personal, I should use my own device but I was honestly just annoyed by the additional CPU cycles the security add-ons were using.

Ah yeah, the fun of how that works. I recall that I had previously set up WebDAV to try to simplify my source of truth but I think that was just with the original KeePass app, not KeePassXC. I also wasn’t trying to share passwords among multiple people but I do recall having issues when I was using Dropbox to sync to my phone since I would have to actually make sure Dropbox had updated the copy of the file which required me opening the app at the time.

As someone who used to use KeePass, went to LastPass, and then Bitwarden (Vaultwarden), I finally got my non-tech literate wife to use Bitwarden. I’m concerned that KeePass might end up being more difficult if it comes down to it. I believe that KeePass had some sort of browser integration but it really has been a long time since I used it so who knows the current state. Curious how browser integration is today.

Is it really $108/year good though for a single person (based on the tier that makes sense for me)? Just curious what other search engines you’ve used or tried and what features set it apart to make it worth spending the money on.

It’s my understanding that many of those surveys do so from tracking user agent strings from browsers. Whole they can be modified, most people have no idea how to do so.

I feel like most of these people were way over analyzing the questions. No reason to look for in depth meaning of possible answers, just answer them and take them at face value.

I was worried about this when I originally switched from Chrome to Firefox earlier this year but I can honestly say I haven’t found a single site that I personally use that I had to go back to Chrome for. Any issues I had with any site were related to ad blocking using uBlock or DNS based blocking I also do.

Honest question - is GitLab really that different of a vendor lock-in over GitHub?

At first, I thought this was getting voted down because it was some random insensitive comment but the video in the news article that someone else shared looked like he was doing aerial maneuvers - maybe not a barrel roll, hard to tell as it just showed the plane pulling up out of a steep dive and barely not clearing the water but the eyewitness specifically called it a barrel roll.

I was team classic theme for a long time. I forget the tool I used but the ability to customize the look of XP was awesome as I had a nice toolbar and start menu theme.

What’s the problem with just not using the portion of the service you do not wish to use? For almost everyone, the integration with email for the calendar is what actually makes it function, where you will be interacting with other people. Most people who want to create a new, unique calendar will just create an additional one in an existing account if they want a separate calendar for a certain purpose.

That’s what I do with my wife for events that we both need to know about. So we have a calendar that is just our stuff and we both subscribe to it (or more like she has the calendar shared with her from my account) but she has permissions to add/remove things. Is there some reason you need a completely separate calendar on a unique service? I feel like we are missing something about your use case to actually be able to understand what you are trying to do.
